About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 8 is seeking a specialized decontamination shelter (tent) for medical emergency response purposes. The procurement targets a multi-use tent with specific technical requirements, including an Air-Shelter Model 284 measuring between 20-30 feet long and 14-16 feet wide, constructed of military-grade neoprene with UV/Chemical resistance. The tent must be auto-inflatable within 5 minutes using a 110v system and include comprehensive decontamination capabilities such as pre-plumbed shower heads, a non-ambulatory roller system, and two-lane traffic flow. The solicitation (36C24825Q0502) is currently in pre-solicitation phase, with responses due by March 24, 2025, at 14:00 Eastern Time. While specific evaluation criteria are not explicitly detailed, the technical specifications suggest a highly rigorous assessment of the tent's functional capabilities and compliance with OSHA and VHA first receiver decontamination program standards.

The contract is exclusively set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBC), limiting competition to qualifying vendors in this category. The procurement is classified under NAICS category 624221 for Temporary Shelters and PSC category 8340 for Tents and Tarpaulins. While the exact award value is not specified, the detailed technical requirements indicate a significant investment in specialized medical emergency response infrastructure. The tent must include advanced features such as a 500-gallon waste water bladder, electrical submersible pump, integrated lighting, roll-up windows and doors, stakes, anchor points, and a maintenance kit. The place of performance is identified as Bay Pines, Florida, with Michael A. Shook listed as the contract specialist, suggesting a localized deployment for this critical medical equipment.
