Place Of Performance: GwangJu Co-Located Operating Base, Republic of Korea Specific Requirements: The Contractor shall design and provide Customer-Owned OSP Telecommunications Infrastructure in accordance with ANSI/TIA-758. Each cable installation shall be coordinated with 607 MMS so that the impact on the building users is properly coordinated. The sequence of installation is at the Contractor’s discretion.
Measurements; Distances provided in this SOW were measured using a calibrated civil engineering survey wheel to within five feet (1524 mm). Duct/cable lengths were specified to account for five foot (1524 mm) variance. Therefore the measurements in this EDP has a variance of plus or minus (+-) five (5) feet.
The contractor shall perform the following tasks:
Maintenance-holes (MH) and Hand Holes (HH) NOTE: All new MHs and HHs installed shall be manufactured with pre-case concrete material and have galvanized hinged lids rated for roadway traffic. Each MH and HH wall that is opposite to a duct entrance way shall have one pulling-in iron installed 6 inches (153mm) to 12 inches (305 mm) below the duct entrance level. MHs and HHs must have security locks.
The Contractor shall provide eighteen (18) new [4 feet (1.22 meters) x 4 feet (1.22 meters) x 4 feet (1.22 meters)] HH and labeled as shown in Attachments.

Ref: (HH1A, HH 1-7, HH 2-1 to HH 2-3, ITN 2159) Fiber Optic Cable Installation The Contractor shall Provide OSP SM FOCs as described in the following paragraphs and Table 3: Cable Quantities. The cable shall be all dielectric, loose buffer tube, water blocked, SM, OSP cable suitable for underground applications. The Contractor shall coordinate each cable installation with the KO, 607MMS, and 7AF/A6X so as to minimize the impact on building users.
The intent is to provide the cable in one continuous length, to the extent that it is practical. The Contractor shall determine whether or not there is some practical reason for an intermediate splice in the cable at some MH/HH between the cable end points.
If an underground splice is necessary, it shall be accomplished in accordance with commonly accepted telecommunications industry practices for fusion splicing FOC and sealed with a splice case suitable for the application. If a splice case is installed in a MH/HH it shall be pressure tested in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. If a splice case leaks, it shall be reinstalled and retested.
Provide/leave a coil of 50 feet (15.24 meters) maintenance loop cable slack at the following:
At each MH or HH outside a building At every third MH or HH along the duct bank route At every MH or HH where a splice case is located At very MH or HH that a FOC bends 90 degree or more Coordinate maintenance loop locations with 607 MMS. If FOC ends in a MH/HH, terminate appropriately for future splicing after FASC task or other future ROKAF coordination approval. FOC terminated in a building will be terminated at the new patch panel using UPC LC connectors.
Each FOC shall be one continuous length and contain no splices unless otherwise indicated in this paragraph except for terminations. The FOC shall utilize existing vacant inner duct and/or flexible geotextile multiple cell inner duct in the MH/HH/PBs along this route, if available.
Fiber optic cable specified will be 12 strand single mode FOC (12L8.3F), 96 strand single mode FOC (96L8.3F) and 144 strand single mode FOC (144L8.3F).
Approximate footage in Table 3: Cable Quantities does not include slack or maintenance loops. Approximate footage of fiber to be installed:
Fiber Strand Count
Measurement
144 Strand SM FOC
28,315 feet (8,631 meters)
96 Strand SM FOC
4,775 feet (1,455 meters)
