Request for Information 1-8 Question 1- E-001 of ED-101and E-002 of ED-102 Says demolish all conduit and wiring associated with security cameras back to source—Where is the source for security cameras located.
Answer 1- Security cameras are wired back to the Comm Room E051 in BDOC in Building 250. Coordinate location of security panels with Security Forces prior to removal.
Question 2- E-003 of ED-101 says remove floodlights on light poles. Wiring and supports to be removed back to source—looks like all the wiring is underground, Do we have to break everything to take out the wiring or just disconnect power to the wire and remove back to ground and leave everything that’s in the ground.
Answer 2- Bidders are to disconnect power and remove wiring entirely. Any subsurface conduit shall be abandoned in place. Bidders are not to disturb recently improved parking lot and/or roadway pavements.
Question 3- E-007 of ED-103 says remove light pole conduits, wiring, supports back to source?------How far is the source?----- looks like all the wiring is underground, Do we have to break everything to take out the wiring or just disconnect power to the wire and remove back to ground and leave everything that’s in the ground
Answer 3- Power source for the noted fixture is in Building 345. Bidders are to disconnect power and remove wiring entirely. Any subsurface conduit shall be abandoned in place. Bidders are not to disturb recently improved parking lot and/or roadway pavements. Coordinate location of the panelboard serving the light pole with the Base Electrician prior to removal.
Question 4- E-003 of ED-105 says cobra head, wiring and supports to be removed back to source .existing utility pole overhead wiring and concrete base to remain---How far is the source?----overhead wiring is mentioned which makes me think if it is being fed from underground or over head?-----existing utility pole to remain---is the light fixture mounted on utility pole.
Answer 4- Power source for the noted fixture is in Building 212. Light fixture is fed from underground. Both existing and proposed light fixture is mounted on existing utility pole to remain. Coordinate with PSEG-LI and the Base Electrician prior to removal and install of new fixture.
Question 5- E-004 of ES-101 says co-ordinate new pole locations with existing utility poles and overhead power and communication wiring---Are we feeding it from overhead wiring? Please explain
Answer 5- New branch circuiting for light poles and pole mounted lighting fixtures shall be installed underground as noted by the dashed lines on Drawing ES101. There is an existing PSEG-LI utility pole line with overhead lines that run within the base perimeter fence along Old Riverhead Road behind Building
250. Coordinate locations of the new light poles with the existing utility poles and overhead utility lines.
Question 6- E-008 of ED-105 says heads are coming out. pole, Base and wiring to remain but at the same locations E-004 of ES-105 says heads mount on new round tampered pole on existing concrete base.? Are we just installing new heads on existing poles or remove existing pole and install new pole and new heads.
Answer 6- Keyed Note E004 on Drawing ES105 to be revised as follows: “PROVIDE NEW LED AREA LIGHT FIXTURE AS NOTED. MOUNT TO NEW EXISTING ROUND TAPERED POLE ON EXISTING CONCRETE BASE AND CONNECT TO EXISTING WIRING. PROVIDE………RECOMMENDATIONS.” Fixtures are to be mounted to the existing poles.
Question 7- Note # E-001 of Drawing # ED-101 and note # E-003 of drawing # ED-102 call out the removal of the concrete base, however note # E-004 of Drawing # ES-101 and note # E-003 of Drawing # ES-102 calls for the coordination of a new pole location, but notes does not included information about installation of new concrete base. Please clarify if installation of new concrete base is a part of Contract, if yes please provide design of concrete base.
Answer 7- All proposed site light fixtures are to be installed on a newly constructed light pole base unless otherwise noted in the contract drawings to utilize the existing concrete bases. Existing poles 25006, 25007, 25008, and 25009 shall be removed in their entirety, including concreted bases. New bases, poles and lighting fixtures shall be provided as noted on Drawings ES101 and ES102. New branch circuiting for light poles and pole mounted lighting fixtures shall be installed underground as noted by the dashed lines on Drawing ES101. There is an existing PSEG-LI utility pole line with overhead lines that run within the base perimeter fence along Old Riverhead Road behind Building 250. Coordinate locations of the new light poles with the existing utility poles and overhead utility lines.
Refer to Detail 4 on Drawing E-501 for typical light pole installation detail, including concrete base.
