About this file

This document is a solicitation (W912PM-24-B-0004) for annual maintenance dredging of the Cape Fear River in North Carolina, including the Wilmington Harbor Anchorage Basin and channels around the Military Ocean Terminal, Sunny Point (MOTSU).

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District requires a contract to remove and dispose of shoaled material that has accumulated in the channels. The work consists of maintenance dredging to a depth of 42 feet plus 2 feet of allowable over depth for the Anchorage Basin, which has an estimated quantity of 600,000 to 800,000 cubic yards. The MOTSU channels have an estimated quantity of 500,000 to 700,000 cubic yards and can be dredged by mechanical or cutter suction pipeline dredge during an environmental window of October 1 to June 30. Mechanical dredge only is allowed for the Anchorage Basin work, which has no environmental window restrictions. The government-furnished disposal area is the Wilmington Harbor Ocean Dredged Material Disposal Site (ODMDS). An Ocean Certified Scow is required, but an Ocean Certified Dredge is not.
