About this file

This document is a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a contract to provide annual maintenance dredging of the Cape Fear River in North Carolina, including the Wilmington Harbor Anchorage Basin and various channels around the Military Ocean Terminal, Sunny Point (MOTSU). The work consists of removing and disposing of shoaled material that has accumulated in the channels. An Ocean Certified Scow is required, but an Ocean Certified Dredge is not. The Government will provide the Wilmington Harbor Ocean Dredged Material Disposal Site. The estimated quantity for the Anchorage Basin is 600,000 to 800,000 cubic yards, and the estimated quantity for the MOTSU channels is 500,000 to 700,000 cubic yards. Dredging by mechanical dredge only is allowed for the Anchorage Basin, with no environmental window. The MOTSU channels have an environmental window for mechanical or cutter suction pipeline dredge work beginning October 1 and ending June 30. The solicitation is issued by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District.
