PRICE AND PAYMENT PROCEDURES

PART 1 GENERAL

1.1 GENERAL INFORMATION

In each instance, the contract price for a contract line item number (CLIN) will constitute full compensation as herein specified, as shown, or as otherwise approved. The contract price and payment will also constitute full compensation for all work incidental to completion of the CLIN, unless such work is otherwise specifically mentioned for separate payment under another CLIN. In the event any work is required by the specification sections or by the drawings and not specifically mentioned in the measurement and payment paragraphs separate or direct payment will not be made. All costs are therefore incidental to, and included in, the contract prices and payment for all CLINs listed in the price schedule.

All costs for items of work, which are not specifically mentioned to be included in a particular price payment item, are included in the listed item most closely associated with the work involved. The payment made for each item listed constitutes full compensation for furnishing all plant, labor, materials, and equipment, and performing any associated Contractor quality control, environmental protection, meeting safety requirements, tests and reports, and for performing all work required for which separate payment is not otherwise provided.

CLINs measured as a Job will be measured for payment as a complete job in the locations indicated. This measurement includes all incidental work and materials such as fasteners, electrical materials, and O&M manuals that are necessary to make a complete job. Unless the CLIN paragraph makes a specific exception of any item, incidental items will not be measured under any other CLIN, even though there is another listing for the work or material.

LEAD BASE PAINT (LBP) ABATEMENT, REMOVAL, AND DISPOSAL

PART 1 GENERAL

1.1 GENERAL INFORMATION

This section covers the sampling, removal and disposal of lead-based paint (LBP) from surfaces containing lead-based paint, as identified by the Contractor. The sampling, removal and disposal of LBP is only that which is necessary to facilitate removal and replacement of the exciter equipment for the unit under construction. An inventory of metal surfaces has not been completed. Painted metal surfaces are assumed to contain LBP and shall be tested. It is the responsibility of the Contractor to assure that coated metal surfaces are properly identified for LBP content and that no work proceeds on LBP surfaces without proper LBP abatement and removal controls. Contractor will remove LBP only where it is necessary to avoid airborne lead or where mechanical removal will result in paint chips being dispersed uncontrolled. To the maximum extent possible, items which will be taken out of service and removed for disposal, shall be recycled as scrap metal without having LBP paint removed. LBP removal required both at the site and disposal shall be in accordance with the approved LBP Management Plan. Coordination shall be required between the Project and Contractor in determining all areas requiring LBP removal. Contractor shall use paint removal and collection methods such as paint strippers to the maximum extent practical.
