NOTICE OF REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL
ADDENDUM 02
DATE: 30 Aug 2022
| PROJECT TITLE & NUMBER: | B631 Interior Repair |
| W912LM-22-R-1005 PN: QJKL222008 |
1. This amendment is being issued to answer Contractor submitted questions and add additional drawings and sepcs for the above referenced project
Q1. Uploaded drawings are attached (09310, 1138-09-A11-01, 06410, & 08710) that are meant to identify the locations of the existing wall covering, however, after visiting the site there appears to be more wallcovering than what was highlighted on these drawings. Please confirm we are to include any and all walls that currently have wall covering on them beyond what may be identified on the provided plans. Will all walls receive the same color?
A1. Include any walls that currently have wall covering on them beyond what may be identified on the provided plans. Temporary or modular walls do not need to be touched as was identified during the site visit. Walls should be the same colors or match the existing wall colors
Q2. The material schedule on Drawing G1.1-G1.2 B682 identifies several P-lam and solid-surface materials. What should we use for bidding the new counters?
A2. Use Solid-Surface, see included 06410 spec called in the drawing.
Counter color should match: SS-1; IceStone, Fogbound, 061005007 or similar.
Q3. Are we to reuse existing door hardware or replace with new? If hardware is to be replaced, please provide specifications.
A3. Replace with push-pull, kick plate, closer and hand free hardware (reuse the ones on the bottom of the doors). See provided spec 08710 and sheet 1138-09A11-01 for all other hardware.
Q4. The material schedule on Drawing G1.1-G1.2 B682 identifies 4 different types of tile. Please confirm which we should be basing our bid on and how the accents will be used. Will all restroom walls receive tile and at what heights?
A4. Wall tile should be similar to TL-1 (RBC, Caesar, Feel, 12” x 24”) up to 5’-10” to 6’-0” from the floor. Use stainless steel (color) flat tile edge trim.
Use 12” x 24” with a darker tone (contrast) to wall tile. Similar or approximately:
Q5. We assume that all work will need to be performed in phases being this is an occupied building. Please provide information as to how much work area we will be allowed to have at any given time. Will we only be able to have one set of bathrooms closed at a time? Will we be restricted on how much area we can work on at a time for moving furniture and painting walls?
A5. We need to have at least one bathroom (female and male) per building available while work is done. If possible, one available bathroom per floor.
Expect work to be done in 4 phases, restricted to one wing by floor. Unoccupied spaces in other areas of the building may be allowed to be worked simultaneously depending on the contractors proposed plan/phasing.
Q6. Will the toilets be of the same size and color as what is currently installed and are they to be manual flush or sensor flush? What gpf should they be?
A6. Match the size and color (as close as possible), the currently installed toilets. Some existing brands around base are:
0. American Standard
0. Sloen We would prefer to use 1.6 gpf, most of the flush valves around base are Zurn Aquaflush manual flush (manual flush are preferred).
Q7. Are the lavs going to be drop ins and have manual or sensor faucets? Please provide more info.
A7. Drop ins and manual faucets. If existing faucets have restrictors match the restriction specs.
Q8. Do the showers need new floor drains / strainers?
A8. No
Q9. Will the shower valves need to be replaced and should they have hand sprays or just a wall mounted head? Please provide more info.
A9. Replace shower valves with wall mounted head. No hand sprays.
Q10. Are the restrooms receiving any updates required to meet current ADA guidelines?
A10. Layout will remain the same, no updates required.
Q11. Is it anticipated to replace any plumbing piping in the walls? If we need to do so, can you tell us if there are any isolation valves in place or if we will need to add any to keep water available to other areas during work activities?
A11. We do not anticipate or expect to replace any plumbing piping in the walls.
Q12. Do we need to replace any HVAC grilles/registers/diffusers in the remodeled restrooms?
A12. Replace with new.
Q13. Electrical Questions:Please confirm all of the following fixtures are being replaced throughout the 2 floors?

Q15. Please confirm that at this time no occupancy sensors/daylight sensors are being installed and that we just need to confirm that the new light fixtures must be compatible with existing controls?
A15. Proposed base design fixtures (EvoGrid used on B614 Civil Engineering building), have the option of these daylight sensors with the fixture. Replace all controls/switches to be compatible with new light fixtures.
