Can we leave the concrete that is to be removed along with the soil onsite or will we need to haul it off somewhere?
All debris to include concrete and soil must be disposed of off base. The contractor must also provide us with disposal documentation.
1/25/2018 3
Your response to the concrete debris question stated that both concrete and soil have to be disposed of off base. However, drawing CO-100 shows the designated on-site location for excess soil. What is to be disposed of there?
Any soil that is free of debris may be disposed of on base. See drawings or Civil Engineering for specific location.

Sheet AD-301 Addendum #2, 12/7/17 states to keep foundation drain in place. Sheet AD-101 and other sheet state to remove the foundation drain. Please advise.
Regarding B230, notes on AD-101 do not discuss the existing drain pipe. The notes indicate that the existing composite drainage board is to be removed from the wall. Defer to Addendum #2.

The work required for these lines can be found on sheet CN-101 of the Building 222 Drawing set.

Drawings do not show an interior demolition plan. I don’t believe one is required, but it could be useful to note what demolition is required at each of the interior locations.
Sheet AD-101 of the building 230 drawings shows the interior demolition plan and has numbers on the plan that correspond to the pictures on the right of the sheet that shows what needs to be done in each location.
1/31/2018 8 The irrigation line at B230 is to be removed. Are we just to cap the existing system? Or will a new irrigation line go back in at the new elevation?
Existing line to be capped off and there will not be a new irrigation system put in place.

Bldg 020 Existing sidewalk has significant repairs, cracks, and very uneven. These will obviously be damaged, but not part of your scope of work.
Does the Government intend to protect these surfaces to keep the original poor condition in tact. Is the Contractor liable for the 2000 LF of side walk replacement?
It will be the contractors responsibility to protect the governments property during construction and any damage to the governments property will be repaired at the contractors expense.
1/31/2018 11
Bldg 020 Is there a mow strip in north east side of building? None shown in plans, but grass remains on south half of building.
There is no mow strip to be installed with this project on any drawing set see addendum 2 of all drawing sets for clarification.
1/31/2018 12
Bldg 222 Telecom option in plans - does this represent an optional bid item. There seems to be a lot of work IF condition is not met.
It is not an optional item. The telecom work shown on sheet CN-101 of the Building 222 drawing set must be included in this project.
1/31/2018 13
Wall being removed around perimeter of building is connected to the sidewalk. There isn't any sidewalk plan nor details. These side walks are poorly constructed and will be damaged, but not in the scope of work. Is it the Governments intent to have the contractors make spot repairs to the numerous locations where damage occurs?
To make the removal of the retaining wall easier the contractor may cut the sidewalk adjacent to the retaining wall no more than 6" from the retaining wall. Any Additional damage that occurs will be repaired at the contractors expense. Any sidewalk repairs will be done in sections that are the full width of the sidewalk and a minimum length no shorter than the width of the sidewalk.
1/31/2018 14
Is it the Guard’s intent to award all three buildings under one contract? Will the individual building prices be treated as options? If so which building is the priority?
All three buildings will be awarded under one contract. There are NO buildings to be treated as options as they are all one requirement.
1/31/2018 15
The Berm project has a note on a drawing of the building stating that the existing exterior lights are to be removed. However, the question is what if any replacement exterior lighting is in the contract as replacement?
Regarding B222, remove existing light pole base east of the building and remount existing light pole with fixture at the same location on new 30" diameter reinforced concrete base 7'-0" below finished grade with 24" projection above grade. Coordinate anchor bolt pattern with existing light pole. Use 3/4" anchor bolts. Reconnect existing light pole fixture to existing circuit. Refer to the attached light pole base detail, but use 30" diameter base.
Note: See attachment stated "Light Pole Base at Grade 30 Foot Max"
