About this file
This federal contract opportunity notice provides details for a maintenance dredging project on the Raritan River in New Jersey. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers New York District plans to dredge approximately 500,000 cubic yards of material from two areas of the river to a depth of 25 feet below the mean lower low water mark plus two feet of overdepth allowance. Around 435,000 cubic yards from Dredging Area A will be placed at an offshore remediation site, while approximately 65,000 cubic yards from Dredging Area B must be transported to an approved upland placement site secured by the contractor. Interested contractors will need to use mechanical dredging equipment with an enclosed clamshell bucket, and provide multiple scows and tugboats to complete the work between September and December 2021. The solicitation for this invitation for bids is expected to be issued by April 23-26, 2021, with bids due around 30 days later.
