About this file
This document provides details on a federal contract solicitation for maintenance dredging of the Raritan River in New Jersey. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District, intends to issue an invitation for bids to remove approximately 500,000 cubic yards of sediment from two dredging areas along the river to a depth of -25 feet MLLW plus 2 feet of allowable over-depth. Dredged material from Area A totaling around 435,000 cubic yards will be placed at an offshore placement site, while approximately 65,000 cubic yards from Area B will be placed upland at a contractor-provided facility. Bids are due 30 days following solicitation issuance on or around April 23-26, 2021. The apparent low bidder must provide permits for upland placement within 35 days of notification. Work must commence within 5 days of notice to proceed and maintain a minimum production rate of 10,000 cubic yards per day for Area A and 2,000 cubic yards per day for Area B to minimize vessel traffic impacts. The project period is September through December 2021.
