About this file

This document provides details on a federal contract solicitation for maintenance dredging of the Raritan River in New Jersey. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District, will remove approximately 500,000 cubic yards of sediment from two dredging areas to a depth of -25 feet MLLW plus 2 feet of allowable over-depth. Approximately 435,000 cubic yards of material from Dredging Area A will be placed at an ocean disposal site, while 65,000 cubic yards from Dredging Area B must be placed upland at a contractor-provided, state-permitted site. Work will utilize a mechanical dredge with a closed clamshell bucket and require multiple scows and tugboats due to restrictions in the project's water quality certificate. The apparent low bidder must provide permits for upland placement within 35 days of notification. Work is to commence within 5 days of notice to proceed and maintain a minimum production rate of 10,000 cubic yards per day for Dredging Area A and 2,000 cubic yards per day for Dredging Area B. The solicitation will be issued on April 23-26, 2021 via SAM.gov, with bids due 30 days later. The NAICS code is 237990 and questions must be submitted in writing to the listed contract specialist.

ND = Not detected Total PAH = Sum of all PAH's.

Total DDT = sum of 2,4'- and 4,4'-DDD, DDE, and DDT Total PCB = 2(x), where x = sum of PCB congeners Concentrations shown are the mean of 5 replicate analyses in wet weight.

Means were determined using conservative estimates of concentrations of constituents that were at concentrations below the detection limit.

* = Statistically significant at the 95% confidence level.
