BIDDER’S QUESTIONS AND GOVERNMENT REPLY

1. Reference Building 3101 – Drawing PL-401 note 4 states to relocate hot water heater. Drawing PL-

402 note 19 states existing 20-gallon hot water heater unit on site, looks more like 40 or 50 gallon electric water heater. Drawing PL-501 detail 7 states hot water heater is 120 gallon. Which drawing is correct?

Response: See related notes on Revision 1 to attached drawings PL-401, 402, and 501. The existing water heater is an A.O. Smith Model ECT 52 210, 50 Gallon electric.

2. Reference Building 3101 – Is a backflow Preventer required on the domestic cold water service feeding the toilet rooms?

Response: No, building main is provided with backflow preventer.

3. Reference Building 3101 – Is a pressure reducing valve required on this same cold-water service feeding the toilet rooms?

Response: No, building main is provided with reducing valve.

4. Reference Building 3101 – Drawing MH-501 has a floor drain detail, should this be on the Plumbing Drawings?

Response: Revised drawing MH-501 is attached.

5. Reference Building 3101 – Floor drain on MH-501 indicates a 1/2” trap primer, however fixture schedule on drawing PL-601 indicates no water is required to the floor drain. Please advise if trap primer is required and if so no water is shown anywhere feeding the trap primers. Please advise.

Response: No trap primer required. MH-501 has been revised to remove this indicator.

6. Reference Building 3101 – Reference drawing MH-602 schedule for the outdoor condensing unites.

There are 5 notes at the bottom of the schedule indicating remarks/ accessories but in the remarks.

Accessories column there are no numbers listed, are there 5 accessories for each unit? Please advise.

Response: Yes, all 5 accessories in Remarks are required for each unit.

7. Reference Building 3101 – There are no pipe sizes on the water mains shown on Contract Drawing PL-402. Please advise.

Response: PL-402 has been revised to include water main sizes and branch sizes, defined in the sheet keynotes. Revision attached

8. Reference Building 3101 – Should there be an expansion tank installed on the relocated Hot Water Heater?

Response: Yes, see revised drawing PL-402 to include expansion tank, attached.

9. Reference Building 2201 – Contract Drawing MH-601 states DDC controls are an extension of the existing control system as does specification section 23-09-00. Whose control system is currently being used in the building?

Response: The Ameresco-controlled equipment in 2201 includes the radiant heat in the bay, three hot water boilers, and one steam boiler. They are controlled through Ameresco's control panel, which a uses a Continuum system. The chillers are not controlled by Ameresco.

10. Reference Building 2201 – Drawing A-151 “Reflected Ceiling Plan” shows acoustical ceiling in rooms 175 and 118 at 8’ and 14’. However, the finish schedule on drawing IN-601 indicates Rooms 119 and 120 are to receive acoustical ceiling at 10’. Which drawing are we to follow?

Response: The drawings are correct, Room 118, and 119 & 120 will have independent ceiling heights, and each is an individual space. Rooms 119 and 120 already have a hard ceiling.

11. Reference Building 2201 – Drawing A-301 “Building Section” shows the Hazmat ceiling at 12’.

However, the schedule drawing IN-601 shows 8’. Which is correct?

Response: Provide new ceiling at 12’-0” AFF, see revised drawing IN601.

12. Reference Building 1817 – Structural drawing S-101 and Architectural drawing A-110 indicate overhead ceiling doors to be 16’ wide. The door schedule drawing A601 indicated the doors to be 14’ wide. Which is correct?

Response: Provide Door 100A: 16’-0” x 18’-0”; Door 100B: 16’-0” x 18’-0”; Door 100D: 12’-0” x 18’-0”, see revised drawing A601.

13. Reference Building 1817 – Drawing A-201 indicated in note #5 that the steel bollards are to be painted safety yellow. Detail D5 on the same drawing indicates bollards to have a yellow HDPE cover. Which is correct?

Refer to revised drawing A-201.

14. Building 2201 - Per detail A1 on Sheet A-201 -Drawings A-508, A-508A, A-508B are referenced but not included in the bid documents. Can you please provide the drawings referenced & information on the manufacturer of the existing Vault Door?

Response: Appendix A of this amendment includes referenced drawings and information.

15. Is there a GSA purchasing contract for this project? This affects the costs of the furniture specified in the bid documents. If applicable, the furniture available is at a significantly lower cost.

Response: Where available, GSA schedule numbers have been provided on the revised furnishings schedule.

16. The only buildings showing fire suppression systems are in Buildings 2201 & 3101, there does not seem to be any fire suppression work in Building 2251 & 1817. Please confirm as I want to make sure there are no missing drawings.

Response: Correct. Both buildings 2201 and 3101 each require work to the Fire Suppression System; Buildings 2251 and 1817 have existing Fire Suppression Systems that require no additional work.

17. Building 2251 drawing A-110 notes work to be performed on the exterior of this facility but there are no elevation drawings for building 2251 in the bid documents. Please provide them to enable an accurate assessment of the work required.

Response: There are no exterior building elevations provided because the scope of work is too small to illustrate without an enlarged partial elevation. The scope of work is limited to removing a portion of damaged brick veneer and replacing it ‘in-kind’ to match existing. The size of the areas being patched are approximately 3 ft. wide by 3 ft. high at each of two locations. 18 SF total.

18. Building 3101 drawing A-111 note 5 makes reference to details D7 and F7 on drawing A601 for information on the casework. However, A601 detail D7 denotes a door type and there is no detail F7 on drawing A601. Please advise as to the correct details for the casework.

Response: Note 5 on revised Sheet A-111, attached, has been updated to reference details A4 and A6 respectively, in lieu of details D7 and F7.

19. Reference Building 2201 – Sheet EP-112 refers to panel “DPA- 81”, please provide a location for this panel.

Response: The panel name is DPH-MZ located on the mezzanine at column J and 7.8. EP-112 has been revised and attached, References to DPA-B1 have been changed to DPH-MZ.

20. Reference Building 2201 – Sheet FA-401, please clarify which fire alarm devices are new and which are existing.

Response: Sheet FA401 has been revised and is attached. The plotting of devices was corrupted. The existing devices are shaded and the new devices are bold.

Response: MC cable is allowed according to the UFC in dry exposed locations and concealed in undisturbed walls.
