SUBJECT: Additional Questions and Answers – Fort Sill CCTV Upgrade, Fort Sill, OK 73503. Solicitation Number W9124L-20-R-0023.
1. QUESTION: Is existing cable Coax or Cat6?
ANSWER: - In the AIT Barracks (2735, 2740, 2745 &2750) are all new installs that will require new CAT 6 runs. All other locations have existing CAT 6 runs to each camera.
2. QUESTION: Is conduit required all the way from Recorder to Camera?
ANSWER: - No, existing runs use "J" hooks above ceiling or routed through the walls.
3. QUESTION: Are existing cameras Analog or IP?
ANSWER: - All cameras are IP. Existing cameras in the AIT Barracks are analog converted to digital by means of a balon adapter to CAT 6.
4. QUESTION: What brand are existing cameras?
ANSWER: - A mix of Samsung, Sony, Axis and Digital Watchdog.
5. QUESTION: Are existing camera recorders DVRs or NVRs?
ANSWER: - In the AIT Barracks they are NVRs, all other facilities have DVRs.
6. QUESTION: Can we get brand/model # of existing camera recorders?
ANSWER: - We have Digital Watchdog Vmax A1, 2 bays with 8TB (4 - 2TB drives) capacity per bay. We currently have all bays filled for a total capacity of 16TB per NVR.
This is what is in the Barracks and our current recording capacity is almost maxed out.
There may be a need for an additional NVR and cabinet procured to integrate with the system as our current capacity can’t integrate that many cameras. The other three (3) buildings (2760, 2765 and 4100) all have Samsung DVRs that have either failed or are severely degraded in performance.
7. QUESTION: AIT Barracks have NVRs. You said you use Baluns to connect analog cameras using Cat6 cable. Unless you are using "Ethernet over Coax converters" you can't connect analog camera using CCTV Balun to NVR because NVR does not have BNC inputs that DVRs ,for example, have. Please clarify if existing AIT Barracks (2735, 2740, 2745 &2750) recorders are NVRs or DVRs.
ANSWER: - The cameras for the barracks need to be digital network cameras. Existing cameras in AIT Barracks do not need to be modified. The new installs need to integrate into the NVR and be able to integrate into the existing system.
8. QUESTION: do we need to install conduit for new cabling that we will be adding?
ANSWER: All new cabling can use existing "J" hooks or installation of new "J" hooks to secure cables above ceiling.
9. QUESTION: What is the number of existing cameras per building: 4100/4101, 2760, 2765?
ANSWER: - Please refer to CCTV Location Diagrams in attachment section for details.
10. QUESTION: Buildings 4100/4101, 2760, 2765 - Are all these existing cameras
Analog or IP?
ANSWER: - All cameras are IP.
11. QUESTION: Buildings 4100/4101, 2760, 2765: Are existing recorders we will be replacing DVRs or NVRs?
ANSWER: - We currently have DVRs, but want to transition to NVRs with a minimum of 32TB storage. Current DVRs are beyond life cycle and have already failed or are failing.
Also don’t want to be tied to an annual maintenance agreement with a software vendor like we are currently.
12. QUESTION: What is existing cabling in Buildings 4100/4101, 2760, 2765: is it
COAX or Cat6?
ANSWER: - All cabling is CAT 6.
13. QUESTION: Buildings 4100/4101, 2760, 2765: are existing cameras connected to recorders via "Ethernet over Coax converters" ?
ANSWER: - Ethernet CAT 6 with IP addressing.
