About this file
This document contains a question and answer log for a federal solicitation seeking a water blast roadwheel denuding system. The solicitation is seeking a fully automated system to remove up to 1 inch of bonded rubber from 25-inch and 24-inch roadwheels using high-intensity water blasting. The system must fit within dimensions of 25 feet wide by 40 feet long, and each wheel denuding cycle must be completed in under 6 minutes. The questions and answers provide clarification that only the rubber portion of tires needs to be removed, incidental water is allowed, and that proposals must include a compliance matrix with narrative explanations for any non-compliant items. The related federal opportunity details correspond to the Red River Army Depot's requirement for a new roadwheel denuding system to prepare wheels for reuse.
