About this file
This document outlines labeling guidelines for Next Generation Transponder (NGT) devices required under a Department of the Army solicitation. The Army Contracting Command-Rock Island requires NGTs that support logistics tracking, locating, and health monitoring of government commodities and assets using both satellite and cellular connectivity. The NGTs must include commercial communications hardware, training, technical engineering services, and warranty support. Labeling requirements specify a glossy yellow barcode label measuring 1.25 inches by 0.425 inches with machine-readable font containing information about the NGT's safe separation distance from ammunition as determined by the Naval Surface Warfare Center. Placement of the label on NGT devices must be in an accessible location for users. Product Lead Automated Movement and Identification Solutions will manage the NGT program.
