About this file
This document contains questions and answers related to solicitation number W50S9723Q0034 from the Department of the Army National Guard for a 218th ISRG NVX Crestron controller and Cisco switches project. The questions seek clarification on existing equipment details like monitor part numbers, audio configurations, fiber runs and interfaces. Answers provide equipment specifications and confirm MM fiber and manufacturer warranties are acceptable. The project involves installing Crestron NVX equipment including frames, cards and 58 field devices to replace an existing switcher and upgrade video walls, displays and fiber drops across two floors of a facility with similar floor plans.

1. What is the part numbers of the NEC monitors in the video wall?
A: NEC: UN552-TMX9P 55(246th) / UN552V-TMX9p(247th)
2. Where are the video wall scalers mounted?
A: Scalers are mounted behind the displays
3. What are the part numbers of the other existing displays.
A: 8 NEC 98in LCD Displays PN C981Q
4. Do the stacked switches need redundant power?
A: Yes, the stacks will need redundant power
5. How many touch panels. Desk mount or wall mount?
A: 2 touch panels, 1 wall mount, 1 Desk Mount
6. What Biamp DSP is installed and the associated audio configuration - amplifiers/speakers. It might not be needed with NVX built-in audio processing.
A: LAB.gruppen E Series 4:2 and 1 8:2(also see attachments)
7. Is MM fiber acceptable?
A: Yes MM fiber is accectable
8. How long are the fiber runs?
A: Roughly 200-250ft
9. What is the video interface of the Comcast tuners? HDMI?
A: HDMI
10. A diagram of the existing system would be helpful to clarify the references.
A: See attachments for some equipment and drawings, both floors are very similar.
11. Is the old switcher fitted with a Dante card?
A: No, the switcher only has input and output cards
12. What is the type number of the Biamp processor?
A: The System as 2 Nexia Cs Biamp
13. What is the actual requirement for audio routing - namely how many simultaneous audio channels?
A: Current system on allows for one audio source selection on each floor( IE 246th can select a source and the 247th can select another source.)
14. If NEC Monitors need to be taken down to replace the scalers, will that be on the Guard or the contractor? If contractor has to take down should they plan for spares if this is the case?
A: Guard members will pull out and take down monitors if need. Contractor does not. Spares are not in the budget, and too late in the year to request additional funding.
15. The Scope calls out 58 fiber drops, then breaks that down into 32-workstations, 18-Video wall, 8-Displays. However, the parts list at the bottom of the SOW calls for 148 Crestron SFPs, which is more than twice the number of fiber drops (2x+32). Why is this? If this is because there are 16 NVX cards in chassis, this is still twice as many as needed. Additionally, if this is to slot the Cisco fiber switches, we would not use the C
16. restron SFPs, we would populate those switches with Cisco SFPs. Is there any guidance on how we arrived at 148 Crestron SFPs?
A: There are 58 drops and then 58 at the rack. 116 total, but then they want to plus up to have extra on hand. So 148. The system is all fiber apart from the touch panels
17. For the fiber installation, is there existing conduit and electrical boxes for the fibers to be landed in, or do floor boxes need to be purchased? How many total locations must be landed? (How are those 58 drops split up? Or grouped?)
A: There are existing conduit and cable trays. 246th floor 3x3 NEC wall + 4 NEC 98in and 16 workstation drops. 247th Floor 3x3 NEC wall + 4 98inch NEC’s and 16 workstation drops
18. The product list calls out NVX frames and cards specifically but does not call out the field side NVX devices, which is odd because 58 power supplies are specified. Does the customer already have 58 NVX field devices? If so what model
A: the 58 NVX-360 are for the endpoints (field side)
19. Does the Crestron NVX system need to support any additional components in the AV rack such as VTC outputs, Cameras, Rack computers, Blu Ray players in addition to the four (4) tuners?
A: Only the four (4) tuners. No other components
20. Please clarify the warranty requirement. Do you require/want a service contract or manufacturer warranty only for the new equipment?
A: Just manufacturing warranty
