About this file
This is a Pre-Bid Requests for Additional Information document issued by the City of Holly Hill, Florida on October 8, 2025, for the Sewer Bypass Pumps for 3 Lift Stations project funded through HMGP. The project involves the procurement and installation of three emergency bypass pumps with associated equipment and improvements for three existing sanitary pumping stations in Holly Hill. The scope includes concrete slabs for pump attachment, ductile iron piping to connect the bypass pumps to existing wet wells and force mains, electrical wiring connections to make the bypass systems fully functional and independent from existing pump station controls, and acquisition and installation of solar panels and controllers for each bypass pump to maintain charged starting batteries. The document addresses bidder inquiries regarding acceptable materials and installation procedures for the force-main components and isolation requirements.
The responses clarify that DR11 HDPE pipe is acceptable as an alternate to underground ductile iron piping, provided all fittings utilize fused MJ fittings. Additionally, the city confirmed that the force-main on each lift station can be isolated through either existing isolation methods or by installing an isolation valve while the lift station is down to complete the tie-in connection. These clarifications enable bidders to propose alternative materials and understand operational procedures necessary for project execution.

HOLLY HILL BYPASS PUMPS FOR 3 LIFT STATIONS ZC 24300
PRE-BID REQUESTS FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION (10/8/2025)
1. Will the city Accept DR11 HDPE as an alternate to the underground ductile iron piping on the plans?
DR11 pipe may be used in lieu of DIP for the underground portion of the work. However, all fittings must use fused MJ fittings.
2. Does the city have a way to isolate the force-main on each lift station so that the bypass pump discharge tie in can be performed?
The force-main can either be isolated, or the lift station can be down long enough to place an isolation valve so the tie-in can be completed.
