Third Amended Scope of Work
Quick Quote: Drone Equipment
Summary:
The Virginia Department of Forestry (DOF) is seeking a contractor to supply and deliver two
DJI Mavic 3 Thermal drones and related equipment to support its efforts in prescribed burns and wildland fire management. Bids must be for exact make and model for items 1-5; no substitutions of like equivalents will be accepted.
Items 1-5 were selected because of their reliability and compatibility with existing DOF equipment. DOF drone pilots have been trained with the DJI Mavic 3 Thermal unit, and cross training would be prohibitive, counterproductive, and would dramatically increase costs for DOF pilots. The specified accessories have been selected because of their reliability and compatibility with existing DOF equipment. Acceptance of like equivalents would pose a risk to health and safety as this equipment will be used for emergency fire response. DOF has a stock of replacement parts for the DJI Mavic 3 Thermal unit to facilitate rapid repairs. The IGEN4500
Generator is recommended for DOF IGNIS Drone Batteries. This generator can charge two large IGNIS batteries at one time, which will speed up charging capabilities for prescribed burns and wildland fire management.
