About this file

This document contains questions and answers regarding Solicitation Number FA301620Q0032 for containerized housing units at Joint Base San Antonio Lackland in Texas. The solicitation seeks 40-foot containerized housing units to accommodate 30 persons per unit, with a minimum of 100 square feet per room. While 20-foot units housing 15 persons each were suggested as an alternative, the government response indicates the limited electrical infrastructure at the site cannot accommodate the increased number of separate units this would require. The document extends the response deadline to the amended solicitation to April 20, 2020 to accommodate additional requirements specified in the updated Statement of Objectives dated April 6, 2020.

502 CONS/JBKAE Solicitation #FA301620Q0032 JBSA Lackland, TX Containerized Housing Units

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Cut-off date for contractor questions is: 12:00 PM CST, 26 March 2020.

Questions

Question 4: Can 20 foot units be utilized instead of 40 ft containers ?

The footprint and area per person would be the same and the site would not be altered since the 20 ft units can be placed back to back for the same length. There would be fifteen 20 foot units. Each unit would house 30 persons with 100SF area for each room.

The Cost overall could be Lower and Mobility would be much easier, safer and quicker, especially in narrow pathways needing Immediate Setups. Additionally, any needed isolation would be better served with 2 persons per unit instead of 6 persons per unit.

Government Response: No, we have limited electrical infrastructure going to Pad B and 15 separate units cannot be accommodated from the Main Distribution Panel.

Commented [NJWGUAS1]: 3 persons per unit
