QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Cut-off date for contractor questions is: 12:00 PM CST, 13 April 2020.

Questions

Question 12: Please provide the link for JBSA-Lackland Air Force Base Design Standards, Architectural Compatibility Plan, and the Installation Facilities Standards (IFS). Narrowing search for the requirement for long term installation of temporary buildings and electrical codes.

Government Response: https://www.wbdg.org/ffc/af-afcec/installation-facilities-standards-ifs/jbsa-lackland-ifs

Question 13: Who is financially responsible for “some gravel base may need to be placed to accommodate the configuration?

Government Response: The contractor that is selected. From our CE expert… 16 cubic yards per container X 2700lbs per ton= 20.5 tons per container X 10 CHUs=~205 Tons of type II sub-base. It might be safe to order 10% more.

Question 14: What is the distance from the designated electrical panel for the remaining two containers?

Government Response: Answered in Question 3 response: approximately 60’-70’ for each…120’- 140’ total.

Question 15: Does the government require existing flooring of Conex removed? Does the government have an expectation of flooring?

Government Response: The single-use CONEX existing flooring does not need to be removed. The SOO leaves it up to the contractor to propose interior finishes. Of the submissions, the government will select the one that is technically accurate and best price. The standard we have seen on the majority of CONEX offices is Fiberglass Reinforced Panels (FRP) and 12’ or 16’ vinyl tile flooring laid over a leveling sub-floor. Other solution have include roll vinyl flooring.

Question 16: Does the government have a minimum ceiling height?

Government Response: The height of an 8’ X 40’ CONEX is 8’5”…with insulation and a light fixture, fire alarm, the ceiling should be approximately 7’10” to 8’.
