502 CONS/JBKAE Solicitation # FA301620Q00320001 JBSA Lackland, TX Containerized Housing Units
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Cut-off date for contractor questions is: 12:00 PM CST, 13 April 2020.
Questions
Question 17: Will a wider unit be considered i.e. 12 feet wide or 14 feet wide?
Government Response: Would like to hear what you have in mind, provided the total unit count does not exceed 10 (eight is preferred as this would preclude the need for additional electrical service). See picture below for approximate dimensions of space.
Question 18: Will these units be required to be stackable in the event they are needed to be stored or transported?
Government Response: Typically all of our finished CONEX office remain stackable after completed.
Maintaining stackable units is not a requirement, but nothing that we have done removes this capability.
Question 19: Will houses require metal siding similar to a shipping container or will hardy board type or vinyl siding suffice?
Government Response: No, the shipping container does not require exterior finishes. 2.3.3. Containers will have to be painted in a color to be approved by the 353rd (a color similar to desert tan).
Question 20: Will the additional gravel base, if needed, be included in the price of the unit along with installation? Or will this need to be a separate line item?
Government Response: Yes, included as turnkey.
Question 21: Will the 90 days post award contract period include manufacturing of the units?
Government Response: Once contract is awarded, we are yielding to CONS to determine when the installation phase of the contract should start. From that date, we request the performance last no longer than 90 days (including manufacturing). We understand there ae unforeseen circumstances that could prolong this time.
Question 22: Will this RFQ be email submittal only?
Government Response: Yes, email submittal only.
