About this file

This is a construction drawing set for the City of Daytona Beach, Florida, depicting the partial boardwalk and railing replacement project at the Main Street Pier. The project involves the demolition and renovation of specific sections of the pier's concrete slab, beams, deck, and guardrail systems across eight identified sections spanning approximately 274 feet. Key work items include demolishing existing concrete structural elements and steel components, removing damaged plywood guardrail sections and replacing them with open guard members, installing new 2x8 marine-grade pressure-treated decking to match existing elevation, adding new diagonal bracing, and coordinating with mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection trades for utility relocation. The drawing set establishes specific renovation limits, identifies 54 bent locations, and requires field verification of existing structure dimensions prior to construction. Contractors must maintain pedestrian and delivery cart access paths during both demolition and construction phases, coordinate concrete surface finishes with the owner, and are responsible for disposal of all demolished materials to designated county solid waste facilities.

The contractor must include costs for all repair items necessary to complete the scope of work, including temporary shoring and tightening of existing loose bolts. All newly installed lumber shall be pressure treated and all new reinforcing bars must be epoxy coated. The contractor is prohibited from salvaging wood members from the demolished boardwalk. Coordination with the owner is required regarding exposed concrete surface finishes, paint specifications, and the color selection for the new deck, which must be submitted for approval prior to installation. The project is identified as Project Number 2019-4115 and was prepared by a licensed professional engineer, with drawings dated May 23, 2025, and associated with the City of Daytona Beach's 2620 ITB solicitation for Main Street Pier Repairs.
