About this file
This document is a School Board agenda item from the Volusia County School Board in Florida, detailing the architectural selection process for an 11 Classroom Addition project at Pathways Elementary School. The project was solicited through a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) issued on October 25, 2024, which received submissions from nine architectural firms. After review, the selection committee interviewed the top three firms on December 3, 2024, with Hall & Ogle Architects, Inc. being ranked first, followed by Zyscovich, LLC and Song & Associates, Inc. The project is scheduled for Board approval on January 14, 2025, with an anticipated contract award on March 11, 2025.
The project is budgeted at $700,000.00, with funding sourced from the Local Capital Improvement Fund (LCIF) and Impact Fees under Project No. 48152. The scope includes a one-story, masonry construction classroom building with restrooms, storage rooms, and a mechanical room, along with expansion of the parent drop-off/pick-up loop and associated site work. The selection process followed Florida Statute 287.055 (Consultants' Competitive Negotiations Act) and School Board Policy 602, with the superintendent recommending authorization to negotiate a contract with the top-ranked firm, Hall & Ogle Architects, Inc. The project aligns with the school board's goals of communication, community engagement, and efficient resource management.
