The solicitation is for a partial roof replacement project at the Naval Submarine Base New London in Groton, Connecticut. The work includes full replacement of one roof section and repair of other areas. The requirement is for a firm-fixed price contract set aside for women-owned small businesses or economically disadvantaged women-owned small businesses. SECTION SF 30 BLOCK 14 CONTINUATION PAGE

The following items are applicable to this modification:

- Is this FM insured?

See page 84 of Specs, Section 1.7 and page 93 of Specs, Section 1.1 for FM approval requirements.

- Is there a vapor barrier? If so, what would it be?

See page 87 of Specs, Section 2.4.1 for vapor barrier requirements

- A cover board is mentioned in the specs? Not shown on the drawing on Page A103.

Provide cover board per Specifications page 87, Section 2.2.

- For the Museum Area, there is an exposed acoustical ceiling. Will we have to Olybond (adhere) the insulation to the acoustical decking?

Yes.

- Is there access to the small roofs in the back of the building? Windows to climb out of?

Per RFI Part I, Question 3:

Please provide accessibility information to the rear smaller roofs (near Pond).

There is no direct access to the rear small roofs. The roofs may be accessed from the higher roof (main building roof) for the workers through a ladder that does not exist to any of those small roofs. A lull may have to be used for the materials and equipment transport.

- Can you verify new warranty length and wind speed (Specs say 135 mph for a MOD Bit roof) See page 99 of Specs, Section 1.8 “Warranty” for warranty information See 97 of Specs, Section 1.4.4 “Wind Uplift Resistance” , page 117 of Specs, Section 1.9 “Wind Uplift Resistance”, See page 88 of Specs, Section 2.5 “Fasteners” for wind speed information

- On Page A103 Roof Drawing, should we carry a unit price for wet or deteriorated roof insulation or gypsum board for infrared scanning sections?

Per RFI Part I, Question 20(b):

Drawing A103 note 2 Demolition & Construction Keynotes notes to – “assess roofing condition using infrared scanning identify any damage, deteriorated and wet roof areas. Repair all deteriorated and wet insulation and sheathing. Install new gypsum sheathing, insulation and EPDM roofing to match level and slope of existing roofing.” If infrared scans have been previously performed, please provide results. If the contractor is to include infrared scans in the proposal, areas of wet and or deteriorated roof cannot be determined before infrared scanning is performed. Should a certain percentage of roof be carried for replacement or square foot cost? Please clarify.

Include 15% roof area to be wet.
