About this file
This document contains questions and responses related to a federal solicitation for the overhaul of a caisson and hydraulic operation system at a naval facility. The solicitation involves performing on-site work on the hydraulic operation system and caisson in two separate construction sequences, with the order to be determined. The response provides clarification that attaching pad eyes to the caisson for towing requires approval, and identifies existing rigging points. Welding and quay fees would be the contractor's responsibility. The scope of work for electric, control circuits and motor maintenance is identified. Revised specifications extend the response period to 60 days and adjust the overhaul durations to 360 days for the hydraulic system and 270 days for the caisson.
