About this file
This document contains questions and answers regarding a solicitation for inventory support services for the USNS PECOS (T-AO 197). The solicitation requires conducting a 100% inventory of approximately 19,000 line items representing 95,000 individual pieces of material located in the ship's repair part storerooms and bulkhead spares. The inventory must validate all data fields on provided inventory audit sheets and include any materials present but not listed. A minimum of two contractors would typically be needed to complete the inventory within the specified timeframe, with the potential to add a third person to input data into the ShipCLIP system while two conduct inventory activities and re-checks.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
The following are answers to questions received from potential offerors. The answers provide clarification only and DO NOT constitute an amendment to the solicitation.
1. Is it 95,000 items in total or there's approximately 95,000 materials per line item? 3.1.1 Conduct 100% inventory, aprox. 19,000 Line Items for approx 95,000 eaches by location of all materials located in ship’s repair part storerooms and bulkhead spares utilizing inventory audit sheets provided by the Government as generated from the ShipClip Inventory Audit module. ANSWER - 1: There is 19,000 different items and 95,000 individual pieces.
2.Regarding the anticipated manpower required for this job within the tentative time frame. Given that we are not provided examples of the items to be inventoried, would you please provide some insight into how many people you anticipate will be needed to successfully complete the project within the specified timeframe?
ANSWER - 2: Historically for this type of work and time frame there would be a minimum of two contractors. If it’s your first time doing this work you may want an additional person to do the input into ShipCLIP while the other two are doing the inventory and any re-checking of items.
