Statement of Work Statement
Aviation Logistics Environment (ALE), Program Management and Lifecycle Support Services
Date: 21 August 2019
Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR)
Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD)
1.0 Background
The Naval Aircraft Warfare Center – Aircraft Division (NAWC-AD) Aviation Logistics Environment (ALE) has the overall responsibility to research, analyze and evaluate solutions in order to implement and deploy the best Naval
Aviation Logistics Information Technology (IT) solutions across the Naval Aviation Enterprise (NAE). This
Logistics support includes both new logistics Information Technology (IT) solution sets and sustaining existing IT solution sets in the strategic and tactical domains. The Aviation Logistics Environment (ALE) is the NAVAIR
Logistics Information Technology (IT) Defense Business System (DBS) delivering full lifecycle weapon system logistics and maintenance capabilities in support of the Naval Aviation Enterprise. The ALE delivers these capabilities via a net-centric, shared, data environment supporting shore based, afloat and expeditionary operations.
ALE integrates IT Services plane-side and interfaces with infrastructure systems, enabling data analysis in support of aircraft availability and Ready Basic Aircraft (RBA) status.
ALE is a Tech Refresh Program, modernizing current systems in the Logistics IT Portfolio, and adding new capabilities as the Integration IPT for the Aviation Readiness Digital Integration Working Group (DIWG) with a current focus on Sustainment Vision 2020. As Tech Refresh progresses, a reduction in the number of systems in the
Logistics IT Portfolio will be achieved as Business Process Reengineering (BPR) and System Integration efforts are completed. ALE contributes to reduction of Total Ownership Costs by reducing work force resulting from centrally managed Logistics IT solutions and providing Enterprise Logistics IT Solutions (off-aircraft) to PMAs reducing unnecessary development of platform unique IT solutions.
