ATTACHMENT K – DATA FORMATS
Livescan transmits an Enterprise Messaging Service (EMS) mapped message with one or more Electronic Fingerprint Transmission (EFT) NIST records containing the demographic and biometric information to the Enterprise Service Bus for each Livescan capture.
Livescan validates all demographic data to ensure that the data is compliant with the EFT NIST format defined by USCIS prior to sending a submission.
The EFT NIST record is submitted as a mapped message into an EMS queue to be processed by the
ESB.
The following computer languages are supported for EMS API programming along with the TIBCO reference manuals that document the use of the EMS API
TIBCO Enterprise Message Service™ C and COBOL Reference
TIBCO Enterprise Message Service™ .NET Reference
TIBCO Enterprise Message Service™ Java Reference
Livescan is given a system account and password to connect to the ESB EMS. Once connected and authenticated, Livescan will be able to submit raw EFT data into the designated Topic.
The connection between the Livescan and EMS will have the following characteristics
Bi-directional Secure Socket Layer (SSL)
Certificates shall be DHS issued certificates and shall be used for SSL hand shake.
Connection shall be made to the ESB EMS on the ESB Security Tier.
ESB EMS on the ESB Security Tier shall establish trust of client(s) identity via Privacy Enhanced Mail (PEM) or Distinguished Encoding Rules (DER) formatted X.509 Certificate
Livescan supports four basic workflows/biometric collections:
1. FAUF Ten-print records (EFT Types 1, 2, 4, and 10)
2. BIO1 (USCIS-defined) image records (EFT Types 1, 2, 8, and 10)
3. UK Visa records (EFT Types 1, 2, 4, 7, and 10)
4. Canada Visa records (EFT Types 1, 2, 14, and 10)
