Question #1: No spec section for glass shower enclosures.

Answer #1: Shower glass spec section is in Specification Section 08 81 00.2.1.2 . Shower Glass Accessories are in Specification Section 08 81 00.2.5.

Question #2: No spec section for the marble threshold shown on Detail 4b of Dwg. A501.

Answer #2: Marble thresholds spec section is in Specification Section 09 30 00.2.5.

Question #3: Spec Section 09 30 00, Page 4, Paragraph 2.1 refers to Section 09 06 90, Color Schedule. This section is missing.

Answer #3: Specification Section 09 30 00 has been revised regarding the color schedule (struck-through). Selection of color will be made by the Government Contracting Officer after contract award.

Question #4: Drawing S101, Detail 3C: To install the plate shown on the plank, roofing needs to be removed and replaced. No information is provided in the bid documents on how this should be accomplished.

Answer #4: The flat bars are to be installed on the under (interior) side of the plank and the plank cores are to be grouted from underneath as well.

Question #5: Please clarify any requirements for floor leveling at existing tile floors, etc? There is no spec for an ardex-type material, but demolition key note #10 on sheet AD-101 references to “provide smooth/solid surface”.

Answer #5: Existing carpet to be removed. Condition of floor under carpet is not known. For the purpose of bidding the assumption shall be that a concrete slab is in good condition, so scraping of glue and other residues will be required to provide a suitable surface for tile (no specification is required). If this assumption turns out to be untrue, the contract will be modified as necessary after award.

Question #6: Sheet A-106 indicates to provide new heat sensor in existing location. Is there any information that can be provided on these?

This is not indicated on the E-drawings.

Answer #6: There is an existing heat sensor currently in the bathrooms. Contractor shall remove the existing sensors, dispose of them, and replace them to match the existing sensors in those locations.

Question #7: Door frame type F6 on sheet A-601, calls out for detail 2C/S102 at the door head. Per the door schedule, please confirm that this detail is to be installed at 6ea locations.

Answer #7: This detail is for Door 131 ONLY (PER 3A/A101). The head needs repair; all other heads appear to be in sound condition.

Question #8: Is the overhead door to be connected to an existing motor? Sheet E-602 indicates to connect to existing, but unclear whether operator or power.

Answer #8: The overhead door will be connected to a new motor as specified in the new spec section.

Question #9: Regarding alternate #2, lead-based paint abatement, please confirm that the 4500sf of surface area does not refer to 4500sf of floor space.

Answer #9: It does not refer to floor space.

Question #10: Cabinets - Countertops: I looked over the plans and specs. The specs. say the color and material for the solid surface material is on the plans, but I cannot find it. The different manufacturers and their different colors vary in price.

Answer #10: Selection of color will be made by the Government Contracting Officer after contract award.

Question #11: Elevation and door schedule show vision lites. Is one row of vision lites at eye level sufficient?

Answer #11: Eye level is sufficient. Provide the number of shown on DOOR TYPE F-7, MFG. STANDARD on Drawing A-601.

Question #12: Drawing S-102, missing or misidentified Detail 2C/S-102.

Answer #12: If this question refers to the cross-reference on DOOR TYPE F-6 on Drawing A-601, then what is marked as Detail 2C/S- 102 is revised to be marked as Detail 1A/S-102.

Question #13: Division 7, does this specification only apply to Building 20? And does this specification only apply to new work or existing and new work?
