1.0 SCOPE

Purpose:

1.1.1 This specification covers the design, manufacture, testing, inspection, preservation, and packaging for a Pedestal Mounted, Telescoping Boom Crane, with an PLC-based integrated crane control system (ICCS). In addition to providing control to the crane, the ICCS will provide control of Aids to Navigation (ATON) deck equipment. The complete system is for replacement of the existing crane system on the 225 ft WLB class (A and B) buoy tending cutters.

Scope:

1.1.2 This specification covers Integrated Logistics Support for the crane and ICCS, including a Design and Interface Report, Provisioning Technical Documentation, Maintenance Recommendations, Recommended Spare Parts, Technical Publications and Drawings. For follow-on or “Production” crane systems, Logistics Support will generally be limited to logistics support for changes or modifications from the Prototype crane installation which might occur.

1.1.3 Installation of the crane and ICCS will be accomplished by an Installing Activity (outside of this contract) based on technical and interface data provided by the Vendor. Limited on-site technical support to the Installation Activity and Commissioning (final adjustments) of the systems to ensure that the equipment is installed and functions correctly shall be provided by the Vendor.

1.1.4 The crane and ICCS shall be designed for on-board and off-board movement of rated load at sea, in sea states identified herein.
