About this file
This document is a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) file for USPS EEO Investigative Services, providing comprehensive guidance for potential individual contractors interested in becoming Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) investigators. The opportunity is a 100% telework position with no set number of contractors, where successful candidates must pass proposal evaluations, complete a virtual 7-day training class, and pass security clearances. Ideal candidates possess excellent computer, communication, writing, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to pay attention to details and follow instructions.
Key details include a four-month timeline from solicitation close to award, with all proposal documents to be submitted via email on sam.gov. The virtual training class is fully covered by the United States Postal Service and requires full-time participation over two weeks, with daily graded assignments. Candidates must have a dedicated workspace, Zoom access, Microsoft Word, and Adobe Acrobat Professional. Non-U.S. citizens can apply if legally authorized to work in the United States, but must be able to obtain a three-year criminal history. Applicants are responsible for their own drug testing and fingerprinting costs. Yearly contractor earnings vary based on case availability and performance, with per-case rates detailed in a separate Pricing Schedule.
