This modification hereby answers the following questions as a result of the pre-proposal conference, that was held on Friday August 6, 2010.

Q: A few more questions on the conference table tops for Award 4:

. I believe the "hardwood" corebands were cherry is this correct?

A: Correct?

Q: From what we saw in the shop we talked about an end match and I believe this what you would want as opposed to a continuous match full length veneer, correct? (Award 4) A: The veneer will be cut from one continuous piece into two pieces for lay up.

Q: We are to book match as the other items are, correct? (Award 4) A: Correct.

.Q: Is there any desired species for the "3" grade back; species, cut, etc? (Award 4) A: No

Q: In reviewing the drawings I don't see an edge profile. If we are to cut the profile we will need to know what that profile is. If we are not to cut the profile we will need to know whether we need to oversize the panels or if they are already oversized for cutting. .(Award 4) A: The specs. are already oversized, We will profile.

Q: What are the sanding specs? (Award 4) A: The sanding will occur on site.

Q: Do you have a desired cross-band such as 1/16" hominite or 1/50" synthetic paper?(Award 4) A: 1/50" synthetic Q: PLY2042 Line 17, is that on MDF?

A: It is on 3-ply, plywood.

Q: Line 14 is New Albany Maple a type of maple, or just a name we have for that type of maple?

A: New Albany Maple is the design on the melamine.

Q: Line 19, 29, 30, 34, should they be plain sliced?

A: Each line item is Plain Slice.

Q: Please look at all specs for veneer.

Some note paper and phenolic backed veneer. Please review all lines, and specify for each item what backer it is.

A: Each VNR should be Phenolic Back Q: Paper backed veneer, that UNICOR uses for repairs. Is that on the solicitation and if so what number it is.

A: It is not on the solicitation

Q: Is there a possibility to use a consignment inventory?

A: No, UNICOR has made several changes, that makes it very difficult to accurately maintain a consignment inventory. There will be no consignment inventory maintained at any UNICOR location.

Q: Does the ash product line still exist?

A: Yes, the Ash Concerto product line still exists, however, production volume on this line is very low.

Q: The specification call for ‘AA” grade veneer for the VNR0010 and VNR0009. However, based on what we saw in the factory that is not what we saw being used.

A: UNICOR has made some specification upgrades on various products in preparation for this solicitation. Specification on these two items were previously “A” grade. That is the reason for the discrepancy on quality.

Q: Is there a tolerance from what is specified and what is accepted for use in the factory? There was a boat shape conference table in the factory that did not have end grain matched veneer. That did not match the specification.

A: After we walked away from the boat shaped conference tables it was inspected closer and it was found to have been a sample that was being manufactured. So factory staff are doubtful that it was even end-grain matched veneer. It was probably manufactured, using regular veneer.

Q: The solicitation asks for full phenolic backed veneer sheets be sent as samples. The phenolic backed veneer are too stiff to be rolled and shipped. They will have to ship these in a crate roughtly 16”x50” x 125” to ensure safe transit. The crate will weigh approximately 400-500 lbs. Would smaller samples be adequate for this solicitation? If so what size would be suitable. If not, will this large crate pose any difficulties for the Support Center in Littleton CO, upon arrival?

A: Full sheet samples will be required to give UNICOR a full sheet sample to evaluate. The Veneer Samples should be sent to UNICOR Allenwood not the UNICOR product support center. Also vendors are reminded that veneer samples should be representative of the quality of veneer that can be supplied during the term of the contract. Samples sent will be maintained, and used as a comparison for future shipments. Any future shipments that do no meet or exceed the quality of the sample sent, will be rejected.

Q: Can you clarify what information is needed for Section I.18?

A: Interested Offerors need to specify the percentage of recycled content that is contained in your product, and certify its accuracy.

Q: Will late proposals be accepted?

A: No, any proposal received, after the time and date of closing will not be considered for award.

The closing date for solicitation FN1313-10 is hereby extended from Friday August 13, 2010 at 2:00 pm EST to Friday August 20,2010 at 2:00 pm EST. All samples are also due on August 20, 2010 at 2:00 pm EST. Any proposals or samples that are received after this date and time, will not be considered for award.

Except as provided herein, all other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
