About this file

This document outlines contractor deliverables for a section retracement survey project managed by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) Gaylord Field Office, with deliverables to be submitted to Carl Kiiskila (989-732-3541 ext. 5463). The contractor must provide a working AutoCAD drawing five business days before final staking that documents conflicting ground evidence, historical versus modern measurements, and multiple monumentation. Final deliverables include two signed and stamped copies of the final map (one on 4-mil mylar), an AutoCAD file, a least squares adjustment report at 95% confidence with error ellipses on all control points and boundary monuments, and field notes. Monumentation work requires installation of stamped 2-inch aluminum caps on 5/8-inch by 34-inch iron rebars at all LCRC-recorded boundary points using standard BLM corner marking per the 2009 manual of instructions, with the MDNR reserving the right to adjust the number of 1/16 corners set and recorded as needed.

Additional deliverables include copies of recorded LCRC records for all state boundary corners, witness trees blazed and painted on state land, and documentation of wood lath or post locations on state boundary lines. Blue composite posts will be placed at one-foot offsets on state land at all state boundary corners, with offset documentation recorded if corners fall in traveled roadways. The contractor must provide state plane coordinate files and latitude-longitude coordinate files in CSV format containing point names, coordinates, elevation or height, and descriptions, along with printed coordinate files. All survey caps and composite posts will be supplied by the Department of Natural Resources.
