Specifications for Aristo Welding Machines at Arnold Air Force Base, TN;
Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC)
Provide all materials, labor, and equipment necessary to provide a new fully functional welding Machine.
Refurbished or remanufactured parts are not authorized for this requirement.
• Machine capacities o Machine shall have an open circuit voltage of 59/<35 VAC.
o Machine shall have a power factor at maximum current of 0.91.
o Machine shall have a Protection Class of IP23.
o Machine shall have a welding output of 500 A/40VDC @ 60%; 400 A/36VDC @100%.
o Machine shall have Stick (MMA) of 500 A/40VDC @ 60%; 400 A/36VDC @100%.
o Machine shall have an Input Voltage with frequency of 50/60 Hz, Phase 3, and 400V.
o Machine shall have MCableX 4x6.
o Machine shall have up to 250 pre-programmed synergic lines (U82 Plus) and on board memory o Machine shall have Advanced pulse SuperPluse functionality o Machine shall have high speed Sift Arch Transfer (SAT) welding o Power supply shall come assembled with the following: End connector, Arktite 3-wire/4-pole
Heavy-Duty 60 Amp Circuit Breaking Plug With Cable Grip And Neoprene Bushing, Crouse-
Hinds p/n: APJ6485 or equiv. Wire, 4 conductor, 6 AWG stranded flexible copper, with rubber insulation, jute filler, separators as required, with neoprene jacket, 55 amp, extreme heavy-duty flexible service, nominal OD 1.0”, type W, minimum 10 ft long, or equiv.
• General o Machine shall be built to NFPA 79 and operate with AEDC power system which is 480V, 3PH, 60 HZ.
o Quote shall include work leads, gas hoses, foot pedal, TIG torch, MIG spool feeder, and flow meters as needed to allow machine to be completely operational as received.
o Operating Manual, Maintenance Manual, & Schematics provided.
o Quote shall include initial instruction at delivery on controls and operation of the machine.
o Quote shall include cart/trolley for machine delivered.
• Verification o Upon delivery, Model Shop personnel will assemble & test run the machine at the site in accordance with functional tests for accuracy required by ISO/ANSI Standards.
o If there are any operational or functional issues, the Contractor shall make a site visit to diagnose
& correct the problem.
• Warranty o This machine shall be warranted against any defects in material, parts, and workmanship for 24 months after the date of installation.
• Maintenance, Parts and Service o The Contractor shall have the capability to service the equipment (labor and parts) beyond the warranty period, or the equipment shall be able to be serviced by a local qualified representative.
The Contractor or representative shall be capable of responding to a repair service call on-site within 36 hours and repair parts delivery within 48 hours after placement of order.
• Packaging/Delivery o Provide all preservation, packaging, and packing to ensure safe delivery of the machine and related components to AEDC (FOB Destination to Arnold Air Force Base, TN 37389). Deliver Machine to AEDC for off-loading by AEDC personnel.
• Installation o Installation will be at the Arnold Air Force Base, TN; Arnold Engineering Development
Complex’s Model Shop, Maintenance Shop, Building 451. Installation of the machine shall be accomplished by Model Shop personnel.
