1.0 PROGRAM SCOPE
This Statement of Work (SOW) outlines the work required to deliver 50 C-5M CMC/WxR Modification Kits, two Aircrew Maintenance Systems Trainer (AMST) Modification Kits and deliver initial spares to; Warner Robins - Air Logistics Complex (WR-ALC) at Robins Air Force Base (AFB), Georgia and other United States Air Force (USAF) units, as required.
1.1 Background
The C-5M Super Galaxy Division (AFLCMC/WLS) developed this program to resolve Core Mission Computer (CMC) processor throughput capacity limitations and legacy WxR Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) issues. The C-5M CMC/WxR Program is a critical predecessor to the C-5M Communications, Navigation, Surveillance and Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) Program.
The CMC/WxR modification upgrades the current Core Processing Module (CPM) cards within the aircraft’s CMC with new Honeywell CPM II cards and replaces the current AN/APS-133 WxR with the Commercial-Off-The-Shelf Rockwell Collins WXR-2100 MultiScan ThreatTrack™ Weather Radar. The installation facility will receive, under separate contracts, the CMC CPM II upgrade and the WXR-2100 System components.
The original development effort for the C-5M CMC/WxR was a sole source award to Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company (Marietta, Georgia), the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), during the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase. Two C-5M Super Galaxy aircraft, modified and tested with this equipment during EMD, ultimately completed Developmental Test and Evaluation and produced the airworthiness data necessary to issue a Military Type Certificate for the C-5M CMC/WxR baseline configuration. At present, the EMD Program anticipates successfully completing Operational Test and Evaluation in December 2017.
The C-5M CMC/WxR configuration baseline established a complete Record Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTO) and Technical Data Package (TDP) that includes all drawing updates and component requirements for this effort. The contract includes this information as attachments.
2.0 REQUIREMENTS
2.1 General Requirements
