Question: The differences between old and new PWS for F-16 dDED standard repair new says subjected to vibration testing to include 30 minutes of operation, this replaces old language which discusses ESS at this point, what is the frequency? Or frequency range?

The PWS doesn't say anything about what happens to those units that fail vibration test same language about p7 and p8 connectors being replaced then standard repair is performed but how do you know when p7 and p8 connectors have been replaced?

Enhanced bonding language does this mean all units that require standard repair are to have enhanced bonding as described?

Expanded repair new language doesn't say when to use expanded repair?

Joint inspection implies contractor and government inspection team/s together at the same time and place sign the inspection sheet to show government acceptance. Does this mean in Ogden? Does this mean each time repaired assets are presented to the government? There is no difference in language from this PWS and the last one.

Answer:

1. Vibration testing frequency range 50 - 50Khz @ 10g . Failing vibration test causes repair/rework for broken connections.

2. P7 and P8 determination requires visual inspection

3. All units that require standard repair are to have enhanced bonding as described.

4. Expanded repair requires p7 and p8 connector replacement.

5. DCMA will inspect testing onsite, either during or after contractor testing, to verify PWS compliance
