Repair Door Heating Track, Bldg 821, Minneapolis ARS, MN
SET #2 – 22 April 2015
1. QUESTION: . In the drawings it calls out 2-1/2” pex after you get out of the mechanical room.
Run 2-1/2” pex heating mains to each 2-1/2” stainless steel manifold. None of the pex manufacturers offer a pex piping system in that size complete with fittings. None of them make a stainless steel manifold as well. Do you have any specifications on the piping the engineer figured for this job? Or do you want to figure a different product for the manifolds and piping?
RESPONSE: See below link for radiant heating 2 1/2" PEX.

See below link for example of Stainless Steel Header which can be custom fabricated by radiant manifold manufacturers.

Note: Refer to Enlarged Plan A1 Sheet M-401 Keynote M.11 indicating the transition from copper to pex piping; and, to Detail C4 on M-501 that calls out the transition from pex to stainless steel manifold.
