FA5240-15-Q-M039 - Corrosion Control Water Blaster RFI #3
1. Please confirm that the system requires an above ground elevated galvanized or stainless collection rack with integrated trough inside the booth and that no concrete trenches or sumps will be permitted?
A: Concrete trenches/sumps or any other construction that requires concrete removal/digging are NOT permitted.
2. Please confirm if the 40,000 PSI is both the not to exceed pressure and the required maximum operating pressure?
A: That is correct. The pump should be able to reach a maximum operating pressure of 40,000 PSI.
3. Are the pre-packaged ISO containers required to be located outside the building to minimize the footprint of the equipment inside?
A: Yes. This is to minimize the footprint inside of the building as well as to keep the generator outside.
4. Is the contractor responsible for providing typhoon blocks for the containers?
A: Yes. All equipment shall be secured for typhoons.
5. Are the pre-packaged ISO containers required to be insulated for sound dampening?
A: Sound dampening is not required but insulation to keep the operating temperatures down is suggested due to the containers being outside in direct sunlight.
6. Since the equipment will be located outside the booth, will the system be required to be operated 100% from inside the booth without having to exit to start individual components?
A: Yes.
7. Are there any safety devices required on the booth to prevent the operation of the water blaster if a door is open, if the ventilation is not on, or if there is an error or warning from the water recovery system?
A: The booth shall not be able to be operated without all systems, to include safety, operable.
8. It is not clear if the booth panels are required to be stainless steel, are the booth panels required to be stainless steel given the highly corrosive environment in Guam and given the fact that this will be used for high pressure striping?
A: There is not a requirement however it is highly suggested with the walls being subjected to high pressure overspray for longevity/corrosion reasons.
9. Since the system requires not only a 1 years parts warranty but also a 1 year onsite labor warranty, will the contractor be responsible for all required preventative maintenance during the first year including all oil, filters, filter change outs, etc.?
A: Yes all preventative maintenance will be included.
10. The SOW requires the contractor to supply a generator, will this generator be required to run the water stripper, booth, and all filtration equipment?
A: Yes, et al.
11. For safety purposes, can the booth lights and limited single phase control power be tied into the buildings power system, if the contractor makes the connections?
A: No. All booth operations will be powered by the generator.
12. Is there a minimum required fuel capacity for the generator? Is the tank required to be double walled? Is the fuel tank required to be integrated into the ISO containers for protection from the elements?
A: Fuel capacity should be able to run the entire system in operation for a minimum of 8 hours. No requirements from the Governments end on fuel tank.
13. Will there be any anti-rust inhibitor applied to the equipment after striping? If so is the contractor required to supply an application gun?
A: Please refer to SOW.
14. Is there a minimum size door requirement for the booth?
A: The minimum door size will be 14 ft.
15. For the 5 sets of PPE, do you have a minimum requirement? Do you require simple rain suits or body armor designed to protect up to 40,000 PSI to include Torso, Chaps, Gaiters, and Gauntlets?
A: PPE will follow all OSHA requirements for operating the booth.
