ECM is presently working with Design Alaska in an effort to propose on this project. We will be sending in a list of questions resulting from our kick-off meeting earlier today. Based on how the questions are answered, our primary concern is, the upper magnitude range of $500,000 will not be enough to cover the cost of the project. Can you tell us if this will be the funding limit please?

354CONS- LJF

IAW FAR 36.204The estimated magnitude of construction for this project is between $250,000 and $500,000.

Please provide the complete structural drawings for B2200. These are needed to understand the configuration of the existing canopy foundations, allowable soil bearing pressures, etc.

8 Pics 1-5, Attachments 03-07 of RFI Log FTQW 21-1010 Canopy Replacement B2200 If shown to be sufficient by analysis, can the new canopies be mounted to the existing foundations? 355 CES/CENM

The existing foundation appear to be non-treated timber pile with an above surface concrete cap. Per IBC, the use of non-treated wood in contract with ground is not allowed.

2/9/2022

9 Do the existing foundations need to be demolished completely or would demolishing them just below grade be acceptable? 356 CES/CENM The entirety of the existing foundation is not required to be completely removed. Enough of the foundation should be removed as to allow a presentable appearance once the project is complete.

2/9/2022

It appears that sliding snow from the upper roofs is imposing significant load on the canopies, would the installation of snow guards on the main building roofs be acceptable mitigation measure for this project?

357 CES/CENM

Snow guards can be used to reduce the imposed load on the canopies. The proposed snow guards shall not/cannot affect the roof warranty of the facility.

The requirement for the exit and entry canopies cannot be mitigated by the installation of the snow guards on the roof.

2/9/2022

11 Please provide the geotechnical report from the original building design such that canopy foundations can be designed. 358 CES/CENM The geotechnical report is not available from when the original building was constructed. The engineer can use a soil bearing pressure of 3,000 psf.
