Refer to Attachment 10, Environmental Report added to Section J of the solicitation

RFI 003) Please advise if there is a material sampling report identifying what material contains hazardous materials. If there is not a report readily available, is this information going to be obtained by the owner or the prime contractor?

Refer to Attachment 10, Environmental Report added to Section J of the solicitation

RFI 029) Has there been an asbestos survey completed for the building, if so, can the information be provided?

Refer to Attachment 10, Environmental Report added to Section J of the solicitation

RFI 030) Has there been a lead paint survey completed for the building, if so, can the information be provided?

Refer to Attachment 10, Environmental Report added to Section J of the solicitation

RFI 031) Are there any known hazardous materials anywhere in the building?

Refer to Attachment 10, Environmental Report added to Section J of the solicitation

RFI 063) Provide any existing Hazardous Material Reports for this building.

Refer to Attachment 10, Environmental Report added to Section J of the solicitation

RFI 064) Sheet G-001 of the drawings, Existing Conditions Note #15 states "contractor is required to perform hazmat testing and abatement prior to construction. If lead or asbestos is found, the contractor must comply with requirements set forth in the AF form 813, as well as local, state, and federal regulations. Additionally, if asbestos disturbance is over 160 sq.ft., contractor must provide NESHAP notification to CARB and 60 CES". Confirm that the base bid is to include the cost of performing the Hazardous Material Survey only and that any required abatement that is found will be a modification to the contract.

Refer to Attachment 10, Environmental Report added to Section J of the solicitation

RFI 091) Since there was no HazMat /Asbestos /Lead testing reports from previous surveys included with the solicitation, contractor assumes there are no concerns of encountering said hazmat materials therefore the contractor will be excluding testing as well as any remediation and/or abatement required for the presence of any existing, unidentified asbestos and /or lead materials discovered. Please acknowledge and confirm.

Refer to Attachment 10, Environmental Report added to Section J of the solicitation

Insulation RFI 004) Where insulation is to be re-applied on the exterior walls the call out is for corrugated metal. The existing panels are corrugated plastic. Please advise what material is to be used at re-applied insulation? Reference plan sheet A-100, note 5 and 6.

Corrugated metal. 4,045 SF insulation removal and replacement. Reference revised drawing A-100 sheet in Attachment 3 from Section J of the solicitation.

RFI 005) Please advise where insulation is to be replaced. Plans note that the insulation is to be replaced as necessary. This is too subjective. Please clarify quantity of insulation that is to be replaced.

Reference plan sheet A-100, note 6.

Quantity is 4,045 SF

RFI 011) How much warehouse insulation needs to be added and/or replaced?

Quantity is 4,045 SF

RFI 023) Drawing A-100 Plan keynote 6 directs the contractor to remove and replace damaged or dislodged insulation panels. This scope of work is nebulous and cannot be priced out competitively. For bidding purposes, can the Government please provide quantities of the insulation that is to be replaced?

Quantity is 4,045 SF

RFI 025) In the documents note 6 on sheet A100, it lists the exterior insulation to be replaced “as-needed”. The vague term leaves a significant risk for the Contractor to guess the amount of insulation to be replaced on the existing exterior walls. Please provide a quantity or percentage of the insulation to replace for bidding purposes to keep it fair to all bidding Contractors.

Quantity is 4,045 SF, 10%

RFI 026) Please provide a bid quantity for the dislodged insulation panels as referenced in note 6 on sheet A100, so all contractors are bidding the same scope.

Quantity is 4,045 SF

RFI 033) The plan exterior wall sections, sheet A302, show that the existing semi-rigid insulation is to remain in place, please clarify how the contractor is to address any fallout of this insulation. Will this be treated as a “changed condition”?

Yes, changed condition pending government approval.

RFI 038) Sheet A-100 note #1, indicates that the “area square footage of insulation to be replaced to be determined by contractor at bid time and specified in proposal documents”. Please clarify the intent of this note; The bid schedule in attachment 9, call insulation as 1 Lump Sum quantity. Please provide additional scope clarification on the amount of insulation to be replaced. Contractors are not able to determine the quantity of insulation to be replace prior to removal of the insulation covering surface board.

Quantity is 4,045 SF

RFI 040) Please provide bid quantities for the scope of work called out for in note 6 on sheet A-100 so all contractors can price the same scope. This scope is not clear, and every contractor could interpret the scope and quantities vastly different.

Quantity is 4,045 SF

RFI 072) Sheet A-1000, note 7 states "EXIST EXTERIOR WAREHOUSE WALLS ARE CLAD WITH METAL SIDING SUPPORTED BY THE STEEL FRAME AND HAVE BEEN INSULATED USING SEMI-RIGID INSULATION
