NEW QUESTIONS RECEIVED 8/31/15
Bldg 65 During the site visit a shed roof side building containing an old unused boiler near the paint booth was observed. Is this structure and/or equipment part of any scope regarding this solicitation and/or the Seed Project?
PM RESPONSE: Only the single roof is to be replaced. No other work required in the shed.
Bldg 910 10 Specialty: Item b. states to provide new ADA compliant toilet grab bar, mirror, TP and paper towel dispenser. During the site visit it was noted that this toilet room is not ADA accessible. Is there any requirement to modify this toilet room so that it is ADA accessible?
PM RESPONSE: Yes, modifications will be needed as the pilaster in corner interferes with the clear space required around the toilet. To be ADA compliant the toilet will need to be moved approx. 16” further away from the outside wall and the sink will need to move approx. 30” in the same direction. A partition will also need to be constructed flush with the corner pilaster to mount the ADA grab bars.
21 Fire Suppression: During the site visit our engineer indicated that he was told that the base utilized a proprietary fire alarm system/manufacturer but that source was not identified. To ensure we provide pricing for the system required please provide name of proprietary system/manufacturer.
PM RESPONSE: Proprietary system is not required. However, compatibility with existing Monaco D-21 System is required. Reference Attached JBC FD Design Guide for more detailed information about the existing system.
Bldg 3514 07 Roofing: 6.0 B3010 states to provide new felt and ice and water shield. We assume per industry standard that the entire roof will receive felt, However, it does not specify the area to be covered with either the felt or the ice and water shield. Per industry standard ice and water shield is typically applied to the roof peak, valleys and the outer edges. There would be a significant price difference if ice and water shield were required for the entire roof surface. Where specifically is the ice and water shield to be used?
PM RESPONSE: DOR shall determine required location of ice and water shield.
08 Openings: 1.0 states to remove rust, prime and paint/caulk (11) steel windows; 6.0 B2020 states to repair existing windows and that glazing shall be clear glass; Per the drawings provided and confirmed at the site visit, these openings are not windows but rather Access Hatches without any glass and some in really rough shape. Is there any requirement for glass to be used in these openings? To what level of repair are we to bring these to especially those that are in really rough shape?
PM RESPONSE: No glass is required unless replacing existing glass. Openings shall keep water from entering building or structure. Components shall be refinished to maximize life cycle of building.
