A: Yes. However, Military Training Leader (MTL) office area will require coordination to work around occupants. MTL office area will not be released to contractor.
6. It was stated at the Site Visit that the contractor would be responsible for moving the FFE out of the construction area and then reinstalled once the finishes are complete. Is this the case? Please provide list of furniture. And if so, will the contractor have to store the FFE within the one wing given per phase or will
Keesler AFB give two wings to the contractor at a time? One for storage, one for construction.
A: The government is responsible for moving FFE out of the construction area and then reinstalling it once the finishes are complete. Contractor to coordinate with the Contracting Officer. The contractor shall still be responsible for window treatment hardware and blinds.

A: Unknown. Assume Pole from ceiling will be required for bidding purposes.
19. If the existing conduit is not large enough to accept the new work in the Lobby Front Desk, will a power pole be acceptable?
A: Yes.
20. Are as-built drawings available for the building which show the ceiling mounted fire alarm devices in the common areas to receive new ceiling tile? If so please provide them. If not, please provide the number of devices.
A: See attached drawing sheet 12 of 12 REV. 01_5.21.14.

A: Provide chair rail on all walls not protected by laundry machines in all laundry rooms.
30. On page 11 of the drawings does detail 54 pertain to all of the windows or just the windows identified by the detail drawing?
A: Typical Exterior Keyed note 54 pertains to all windows on the facility.
31. Page 9 of the drawings, item 42 states to replace all screens on exterior of windows.
A: See RFI 32.

A: Assume forty (40) percent of second and third floor screens and forty (40) percent of common area screens “damaged or missing”. First floor dorm room screens have been replaced.
33. Typical exterior key note 54 says to “check all sealant around window and door openings and replace damaged, rotted, or separating material”. A: Assume all exterior windows and doors

A: Yes. See attached drawing sheet 2 of 12 REV. 01_05.21.14
36. Sheet 9---the door schedule indicates door type 'N', but there are shown; is this an over site or would they be in the "typical room plan"?
A: Remove door type “N”.
37. Sheet 2---General Notes at left hand bottom of page; it would seem an allowance (estimated quantity) for such items as replace damaged ceiling tile, install door stops, replace damaged/missing electrical plates, etc should be provided to assure continuity of bids. There is insufficient time on a site visit to determine these quantities, thus, providing variance in bids due to "guesstimates" for the quantities.
A: See other RFI’s for Quantities.
38. Sheets 5 thru 8---Note 9...Replace dorm room signage; will we be responsible for any signs other than the room signs? If so, please provide a schedule of other signs, directories, etc.
A: No signs required beyond Typical Dorm room signage.
Display cases as shown in plans.
39. Section 10 80 10 Toilet/Bath Accessories---Paragraph 1.1.A.1 states "refer to toilet accessory schedule on drawings". No schedule is shown; please provide.
A: Revise Paragraph 1.1.A. 1 to read:
1.1 SUMMARY
A. Provide toilet and other accessory items in locations as indicated on the Drawings and as specified in the schedule herein.
1. Refer to Toilet Accessory Schedule on Drawings for complete schedule.
1. Refer to Typical Common Area Note number 4.
40. Sheet 9--Typical Room---Notes 38 are contingent upon the site visit allowing enough time to check 199 rooms to check to see if the toilet accessories need replacing or "re-fastening". Could an "allowance of 1/2 of the rooms or some %) will need this service be directed by the Contracting Officer so that all bids would be based on the same quantities.
A: Assume one third (1/3) of the rooms for bid purposes.
41. Sheet 9-- Typical Room--Note 39; is there a particular support that would be specified for this note --i.e. 1 each- 1" square tube stainless steel per vanity?
A: No. The note reads “over base cabinet only”.
42. Sheet 1--Note 22 states to "replace millwork" in vendor and laundry--- (details 3/4 sheet 10). However, the vendor room on floors 2 and 3 of sheets 2 and 3 indicate 22.1--remove millwork. (The laundry room remains 22 -replace). Will the millwork in the vendor area not be replaced?
A: The Millwork will be replaced on the First floor only. Second and third floor vending areas are to have their millwork removed, their walls repaired and finished to a level four finish.
43. Doors/Frames-- Will there be a specification for the frames and doors beyond what is shown on sheet 9?
A: See Specification Section 08 41 00 and
See attached Specification Section 08 11 13.
44. In accordance with the plans and the "typical" room, there will be no change in doors, frames, or fin hardware for the individual rooms. Please confirm.
A: See Statement of Work Typical Dorm Room:
Door Frames to be painted.
45. Sheet 9-- Note 43 indicates that all room screens will be replaced with an overstock of 20 each for future use. Do the screens for the various windows in the common area also need to be replaced?
A: Assume forty (40) percent of second and third floor screens and forty (40) percent of common area screens “damaged or missing”. First floor dorm room screens have been replaced.
46. Will the public address system wiring be required to be installed in conduit?
A: No. Install cabling in neat and professional manner along walls utilizing wall clips.
47. Will the door Monitor System wiring be required to be installed in conduit?
A: Yes.
48. Will this project include HVAC commissioning? In the Specifications, Commissioning is mentioned only twice (both times on page 5). In neither mentioning does it expound on any specification or provide any detail.
A: No. There is no HVAC work in this contract.
49. IAW Specification MAHG 101032 Section 087100 door hardware - para 2.1E exit devices and para 2.1F door closers. Each paragraph lists 3 acceptable manufacturers, none of which are on the existing doors. To comply with the note on plans the new hardware supplied would have to be the same hardware that is on the existing doors, as the mounting and operational holes in the doors will not match other hardware. Do we comply with specs or figure supplying what is on the existing doors?
A: Comply with the specifications. Contractor may utilize stainless steel plates to modify doors to accept new hardware. Attachment of plates to be determined in field.
50. Under the same section – para 2.1C lock cylinders and cores. As only some locks are being replaced and there is an existing keying system in the building, can it be assumed the existing lock interchangeable cores will be transferred to the new locks? If new interchangeable cores are to be provided how will they integrate into the existing system?
A: Yes. The existing interchangeable cores can be transferred to the new locks.
51. Sheet 10--The finish schedule does not list any carpet. The specifications indicate "refer to finish schedule".
Please assist in determining a reply so that all bidders may bid properly.
A: See attached Specification 09 68 13.
52. Painting--The common areas indicate several rooms to be painted, but omit several others. Some of the confusion lies in note 37--"do not get paint on the mural", but yet does not indicate that the room is to be painted. Do we merely paint the rooms that are designated by notes 16 and 17?
A: See attached drawing sheet 2 of 12 REV. 01_05.21.14
53. Painting--Do the ceilings in the common areas paint where it does indicate the walls are to be painted?
A: Yes. Hard ceilings are to be painted in room’s noted.
54. Painting--Do the doors and frames in the common areas paint?
A: Hollow Metal Doors and Hollow Metal Frames are to be painted in the common areas.
