About this file
This is an Exhibit K document outlining Data Security Requirements for the TX-UNPS Access for Child Nutrition Programs contract opportunity in Texas. The document establishes comprehensive security standards and protocols that the contractor must implement and maintain throughout the contract term to protect sensitive data and system access. The requirements cover multiple dimensions of data security including access controls, authentication mechanisms, encryption standards, audit logging, vulnerability management, incident response procedures, and compliance with applicable state and federal regulations. The contractor is required to maintain detailed documentation of all security measures, conduct regular security assessments, and provide evidence of compliance to the contracting agency. The document specifies technical, administrative, and physical security controls necessary to safeguard child nutrition program data and ensure the integrity of the TX-UNPS system.
The data security requirements mandate that the contractor implement industry-standard security practices and maintain certifications or compliance with relevant frameworks such as NIST cybersecurity guidelines or similar standards applicable to government systems. The contractor must establish and maintain audit trails, implement role-based access controls, and ensure all personnel with system access undergo appropriate security training and background screening. Breach notification procedures, data retention and destruction protocols, and business continuity/disaster recovery plans are required components. The contractor is obligated to report all security incidents to the state agency within specified timeframes and cooperate fully with any state-initiated security audits or investigations. These requirements remain in effect for the duration of the contract and any renewal periods.
