About this file
This is a Technical Specifications exhibit for a walk-behind stacker forklift procurement by METRO (the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority). The agency seeks twelve (12) electric walk-behind stacker forklifts meeting detailed technical requirements. The equipment must be Hyster W25ZC or approved equal with a 2,000 lbs. minimum rated capacity, 24V electric power, polyurethane tires, and a 2-stage limited free lift mast capable of reaching 126" minimum lift height. The forklifts must comply with ANSI standards for stability, feature electro-magnetic park brakes, amber safety lights, LED work lights, and high-visibility safety yellow paint. Additional requirements include 34" carriages with side shift, 42" adjustable forks with positive stops, emergency power disconnect switches, and manufacturer's standard accessories including hour meters and battery discharge indicators. Successful bidders must submit responses in Column C of the specification form indicating "In compliance" for all requirements and providing specific values for minimum or maximum specifications. Bidders seeking to substitute alternative equipment as "approved equals" must submit written requests with supporting technical data per the IFB document LOI-10 prior to the deadline specified in LOI-14.
The specification mandates comprehensive warranty coverage at no deductible, with non-wearable components warranted for a minimum of twelve months/2,000 hours or manufacturer's standard warranty (whichever is greater), powertrain coverage for thirty-six months/6,000 hours, frame coverage for sixty months/10,000 hours, and batteries for forty-eight months. The successful bidder must provide three sets of manufacturer-standard keys identified by the last six digits of the serial number and furnish two complete copies of operator's manuals, two complete sets of maintenance/repair/parts manuals, and two complete sets of electrical schematics at pre-delivery inspection, or submit a due bill with specific delivery dates for any unavailable documentation. Warranty work must be performed at a local dealership in the vehicle's assigned area, with vehicle acceptance anticipated within two to four weeks of delivery, provided no outstanding issues exist.
