# General Technical Question Answer Date

1 x

Section 107.10 (d) (9)‐ States to not perform construction activities during night time hours (2 hours before sunset to 2 hours after sunrise)‐ So October 1st‐ sunrise is 7:14 am so work can’t start until 9:14am and sunset is 6:50 pm‐ so you have to stop at 4:50pm, and it only gets shorter‐ is this a park requirement or an environmental requirement? The last two projects this was dropped?

Your interpretation is correct. There are contract requirements driven by both environmental and Park Service concerns.

An amendment will be issued to reduce the restriction in the fall months. I am unaware of the SCR’s requirements from past jobs.

The trees with blue ribbons are they the ones that get removed with rootwads? Can the rootwads and logs be hauled to the ONP Pit at Sol Duc instead of the Elwha?

FHWA did not place the blue ribbons, and do not know what they indicate. An amendment will be written for logs to be hauled to Sol Duc.
