2. If garbage or trash is to be stored on site, use an enclosed bear-proof container. Keep trash containment covered at all times in order to avoid attracting wildlife.

3. Notify the CO if a Lynx is identified within the project corridor. Stop all construction activities adjacent to the location of the Lynx sighting until approval to continue construction activities is provided by the CO.

107.11 Protection of Forests, Parks, and Public Lands. Add the following:

The Forest Service fire prevention plan involving emergency curtailment of operations is included in the Appendix and is in effect on this project. The CO will order the suspension of operations when directed to do so by the Forest Service. No adjustment in the contract completion date will be made for partial or total suspensions of burning operations.

Section 108. — PROSECUTION AND PROGRESS

108.01 Commencement, Prosecution, and Completion of Work. Add the following:

Limit operations as follows:

Close the road by placing a locked gate at the beginning and end of the project. Provide 24 hour access through the locked gate to Gunnison County, Chaffee County, US Forest Service, Taylor Park Cattle Pool personnel, and any emergency service providers requesting access.

(b) No work will be allowed from Thanksgiving Day to April 1.

(c) Keep the parking area at the top of the pass open for public use at all times.

(d) The Timberline Trail will remain open for public use at all times. The trail crosses Cottonwood Pass road at station 371+45 Lt. Provide for the safety of workers and trail users where the Timberline trail crosses Cottonwood Pass Road. Place warning signs on the trail, outside of the construction limits, and on both sides of the road. Place signs on the road warning trail users crossing the road of potential danger.

(e) Allow snowmobiles winter access through the project Thanksgiving Day through April 1.

Provide a warning sign of potential buried hazards at each entrance to the construction limits.

Submit the sign verbiage to the CO for approval by October 1. See Sections 203, 633 and 635 for other snowmobile signage requirements.

(f) Allow the Taylor Park Cattle Pool access within the project limits and to maintain normal grazing management operations during the construction period. The cattle pool is typically within the project limits from mid-June through mid-September but access may be required outside of this time period.

(g) No camping will be allowed along Cottonwood Pass road, except as noted in 108.01 (o).

Notify the CO of any campers observed adjacent to the construction limits along Cottonwood Pass Road.

(h) Report any lynx sightings within or adjacent to the project area to the CO.
