Question: Is the truck body enclosed or open? Attachment 2, page 3, line 30, the specification reads bed liner. Attachment 2, page 4, line 32 (last paragraph) reads, “The contractor should install skylight windows for the van body”. The specification is contradictory. If the F-550 has a van body, then the truck should not have a bed liner.

Answer: Enclosed truck body with lockable compartments. Bed liner (non-skid surface) will be used for lateral surfaces in rear compartment.

Question: Attachment 2, page 4, last paragraph, “The contractor should install skylight windows”. How many skylight windows and what are the required dimensions?

Answer: Two oval skylights on each side of the van body, diagonal surfaces preferred, size to be determined based upon structural integrity of the service body dimensions.

Question: Please confirm if the floor of the utility van body is to have spray liner.

Answer: Lateral surfaces of rear compartment to include pull out cargo shelf. Non-skid surface for traction is preferred

Question: Please find out if they have pictures / drawings of how they would like the fuel transfer tank to be placed inside the van body.

Answer: There are no pictures or drawings.

Question: Will the fuel transfer tank will sit on the cargo slide (which means the cargo slide takes up the full floor of the interior of the van body) or if the cargo slide will only be sized up the fuel transfer tank on the floor.

Answer: The fuel tank will not be attached to cargo slide, Fuel tank will need to be installed in such a way that the cargo slide is not affected, either underneath the tank or shortened to accommodate tank.

Question: Is there a preferred location where the PTO generator will be mounted?

Answer: This will be per design considerations, the Government will not levy this requirement so long as the power outlets and controls are easily accessible by users.

Question: The spec calls for a headache rack, but since the vehicle does not have a pickup bed is this still a requirement? If so, where will it be mounted?

Answer: This requirement is no longer needed due to the van/service body variant being requested.

Question: Are you looking for a Power Takeoff Generator that actually runs off the vehicle's driver line; ie: a PTO Driven Generator under the vehicle being powered by a driveshaft off of the transmission. Plugs and Switches in a curb side cabinet. Or are you looking for a Power Generator that is located in a Curb Side Cabinet that is fueled from the vehicles fuel system.

The controls and outlets are located in the same or an adjacent cabinet.

Answer: We are looking for inline PTO from the truck transmission, quads or duo ports for generator power both inside rear compartment and also accessible from one compartment on the curb side for the power distribution unit that typically comes with the generator.
