About this file

This document is a Clarification #1 addendum for Macomb Community College's Request for Proposal (RFP) No. 6336 for a HyFlex Classroom Audio/Visual (AV) System located in Warren, Michigan. The clarification document addresses seven specific questions from potential bidders regarding technical specifications and equipment requirements, including details about display mounts, camera functionality, microphone systems, and classroom technology infrastructure. The clarification provides specific guidance on equipment selections, such as the Sanus OLF18 Full-Motion Wall Mount for displays, Lumens VC-R30 camera, and Nureva wall-mounted microphone system.

The document indicates that the college will provide instructor station monitors and PC equipment, while the selected vendor will be responsible for supplying specified AV system components. Key clarifications include confirmation that the Nureva microphone system will utilize zone positioning instead of auto-tracking, that only the microphone capability will be used (not the speaker system), and that a ceiling equipment storage container will be used to store equipment to be mounted above the projector. The clarification suggests the project involves upgrading classroom technology to support a more flexible, technology-enhanced learning environment, with specific attention to audio-visual integration and classroom equipment placement.

RE: Clarification #1

Dear Everyone, The following clarifications are being provided for Macomb Community College’s RFP No. 6336 - HyFlex Classroom AV System:

1. Do we need to provide a mount for CD65530-W 65" / CDE7530-W 75" displays?

A: Yes, reference new line item #35 on RFP addendum for the following model:

Sanus OLF18 Full-Motion Wall Mount for 37” to 80” TVs https://www.sanus.com/en_US/products/tv-mounts/olf18/

2. In outline 3 it appears that you expect the camera to auto track, the camera listed Lumens VC-R30 does not have auto tracking.

A: It doesn't need to 'auto track'. The Nureva can utilize zone positioning. The Lumens would PTZ to ~2 preset zones determined by the location of audio the Nureva is picking up.

3. Are we only using the Nureva Microphone capability and ignoring its speaker capability in favor of the ceiling speakers?

A: Correct.

4. The Nureva is a wall mount microphone, Ceiling microphones are listed on outline 2a, is it supposed to be the nureva system?

A: That was a mistake, we switched from the ceiling microphones to the Nureva system. The mention of the ceiling microphones in 2a should be removed.

5. What is the purpose of the ceiling equipment storage container?

A: To store equipment that needs to go above the projector.

6. Will the DC-21 be hooked up to the PC via USB, or the Matrix via HDMI or both?

A: It will be plugged into the PC via USB.

7. Are there going to be 2 OFE monitors on the instructor station (are these in the counts listed in project outline 2a and 2b?)

A: If you are referring to instructor station monitors – then these along with the PC will be supplied by the college.
