About this file

This document is Addendum #5 for the Fire Station #83 Renovations project by the City of DeLand, Florida, issued on April 25, 2025. The addendum provides clarifications and updates to the original bid package, addressing specific questions from potential contractors regarding roof panels, exterior wall materials, lighting specifications, and piping system details. Key modifications include allowing 36" PBR panels instead of 16" Snap-Lok aluminum panels, confirming the use of a fiber cement siding wall panel system with Hardy Board as the basis of design, and specifying lighting requirements from sheet E-101. The bid submission deadline remains May 1, 2025, at 3:00 P.M., with no changes to the original contract timeline.

The addendum includes technical revisions to multiple specification sections, notably updating Division 07 for metal roof and fiber cement siding, and adding missing Division 21 sections related to fire suppression systems. The changes provide more precise installation instructions, material specifications, and performance requirements for contractors. The document emphasizes compliance with Florida Building Code energy requirements, wind loading criteria, and specific installation techniques for roofing, wall panels, and insulation systems. The comprehensive nature of the addendum suggests a complex renovation project with detailed technical expectations for potential bidders.

April 25, 2025 Addendum #5

TO ALL PROSPECTIVE CONTRACTORS

This is an Addendum to and shall be considered as part of the original Bid package for the above-mentioned Bid. Contractors are requested to acknowledge receipt of this Addendum with their

Submission.

CLARIFICATION TO QUESTIONS ASKED/RECEIVED:

1. The new plans call for 16" Snap-Lok .040" aluminum panels. This as-built plan you sent out today shows the existing building being 36" PBR panels. Are we really going to mix panels on the same building?

a. AE RESPONSE: Please note that the intent is to match the existing roof panel. 36” PBR panels meeting Risk Category IV wind criteria are acceptable in place of the 16” Snap-

Lok 0.40” aluminum panels. Revised Specification section 07 41 13 Metal Roof Panel is provided.

b. Please note that the panels are to be installed over cover board and rigid insulation as shown on AE515 and AE516. This system is to meet the requirements of the FBC Energy

Code for continuous 4.5” rigid board insulation above deck and meeting R-27ci. No breaks are allowed in the insulation board to meet the continuous insulation requirements. Refer to AE301 for insulation requirements.

2. Our electrical sub is needing some clarification on quoting to replace the existing lighting in Fire

Station #83. Are you wanting all lighting - inside and out - quoted? Do you have a lighting schedule of the existing lighting.

a. AE RESPONSE: Please provide lighting as shown on sheet E-101 LIGHTING PLAN.

3. Wall materials? One place it is calling out HARDY BOARD EXTERIOR PANEL OVER PMB

EXTERIOR, MATCH EXISTING, Another place: 074646.A01 FIBER CEMENT SIDING WALL

PANEL SYSTEM, then the spec says Foamed-insulation-core metal panels and Exterior Wall

System: Manufacturer's standard concealed-fastener, flush-profile, foamed-insulation-core metal wall panels.

a. If wall panels are to be IMPs (Insulated metal wall panels) We need to pick a profile, with, thickness, finish, etc.

i. AE RESPONSE: Please note that the exterior wall finish is a Fiber Cement Siding

Wall Panel System with Hardy Board Exterior Panel as basis of design. Hardy

Board is a fiber cement siding wall panel system. Please refer to C1/AE501 for typical exterior plan detail of corner condition for reference and specification

April 25, 2025 Addendum #5 section 07 46 46. Basis of design product is provided on page 07 46 46 -5, Part

2.2. Revised Section provided for additional clarification.

b. One place it lists the following:

1. Panel Coverage: 36 inches nominal.

2. Panel Thickness: 2 inches.

3. Insulation Core: Modified polyisocyanurate or polyurethane foam using a non-CFC blowing agent, foamed-in-place or board type, with maximum flame-sprea and smoke-developed indexes of 25 and 450, respectively.

i. AE RESPONSE: Please note that the exterior wall finish is a Fiber Cement

Siding Wall Panel System with Hardy Board Exterior Panel as basis of design.

Hardy Board is a fiber cement siding wall panel system. Please refer to

C1/AE501 for typical exterior plan detail of corner condition for reference and specification section 07 46 46. Basis of design product is provided on page 07

46 46 -5, Part 2.2. Revised Section provided for additional clarification.

c. Another place it lists this spec:

1. Panel Coverage: 16 inches.

2. Panel Height: 3 inches.

3. Concealed-Fastener, Flush-Profile, Metal Wall Panels

Revised Section provided for additional clarification.

d. Are the wall panels horizontal as drawn or vertical as listed in spec?

i. AE RESPONSE: Wall panels are to match existing texture for hardie board panels (Fiber Cement Wall Panels, 07 46 46). Basis of design product is provided on page 07 46 46 -5, Part 2.2. Revised Section provided for additional clarification.

4. Are we supplying metal girts in the walls or are they using steel stud walls?

i. AE RESPONSE: Please note that all building primary structure which includes girts are to be provided by the premanufactured metal building manufacturer as delegated design to meet the wind loading criteria as indicated.
