About this file

Addendum #3 for the Fire Station #83 Renovations project, issued by the City of DeLand Finance Department, provides clarifications and updates to the original bid package for renovating Fire Station #83. The addendum, dated April 11, 2025, addresses multiple contractor questions regarding project specifications, including building modifications, electrical systems, and renovation scope. Key updates include adding a 5% contingency to the bid schedule, confirming a temporary restroom for Fire Department staff, and adjusting the proposal opening date to May 1, 2025, at 3:00 P.M. The project will maintain full fire station operational status during renovations, with a trailer provided at City expense to accommodate ongoing emergency services.

The bid includes a comprehensive breakdown of renovation work across 24 construction divisions, with base bid line items for general requirements, existing conditions, concrete, masonry, metals, and other specialized construction areas. An additive alternate for new LED lighting for the entire facility is available, and a deductive alternate option allows for not removing an existing window and associated exterior concrete slab in room 134. The pre-bid meeting sign-in sheet indicates participation from multiple local construction firms, engineering departments, and architectural companies, suggesting significant local contractor interest in the project. The fire station will remain fully operational during renovations, with temporary accommodations to be coordinated by the occupants.
